My partner of 10 years and I got engaged this past weekend. Looking back on the time we’ve spent together, the places we’ve been, the friends we’ve made, the new things we’ve tried. Thank you for going to weird art shows or ren faires, for raising Olive with me, for going to coffee shops at 3am when I can’t sleep, and being the best partner. There’s at least one photo from every year we’ve spent together, in no particular order.

It’s been a struggle for me to draw lately. But I loved seeing all the hype and cool teasers people were coming up with for @rawpaw World Wide Web design challenge, so decided to try and get back in it.
Loved looking back through my old internet art to get inspired. And remembered how free it used to feel to just post a bunch of silly characters and fanart. So here’s to creating work for fun again, and not worrying about being seen as cringe.

As 2020 ends, I’m thinking about memories and the small but good improvements made despite such a hard year. One thing I’m grateful for is taking the time to focus on myself and work on things that I want to work on.
In honor of that, here’s some drawings I did earlier this year that I’m still proud of. Featuring me and my dad on a fishing trip in Alaska when I was a small child (full boards on my website’s blog page). It’s part of a “slice of life” storyboard I did back in September for @radsechrist online course in an effort to work on my drawing skills.
I learned so much from Rad, and feel good about taking his lessons and continuing to practice and improve. Also highly recommend watching his show Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts on Netflix if you want something fun and positive to watch going into 2021. Here’s to a better year and more art!
