✨ We are very proud to share that our director @brittalbusultan is featured in the newspaper Vasabladet. She has been awarded a two-year grant for her work in analogue filmmaking, as the only recipient from the Ostrobothnia region. In the article, she reflects on her artistic practice, working with analogue film, experimental processes, and landscapes in transformation and highlights @filmverkstaden , the organisation she founded and directs, as one of the only centres in Finland dedicated to analogue film, bringing together artists through its darkrooms, specialised equipment, and international community. We cheer for Britt and her amazing work! Resistance Exhibition by Britt Al-Busultan, Janika Herlevi & Natalia Kozieł-Kalliomäki Welcome to Oksasenkatu 11 February 5-22 2026 We are pened every day Tuesday-Sunday 14-18 The exhibition in gallery Oksasenkatu 11 presents three installations that offer a gentle yet powerful and resilient resistance to our clean and fast-paced world. Mechanically whirring film projectors are placed in the centre and insist on reinvention. The hand-processed photochemical films give endless possibilities and leave clear traces of imperfection. The lecture will feature two presentations: Natalia Kozieł-Kalliomäki's Warm Data: A 16mm city symphony of Toronto, where layered images reveal the pulse of urban life beyond cold data, and Britt Al-Busultan's what goes around comes around: A kinetic 16mm panorama on green transition, technology and time, set against the fragile presence of nature 🏙️🌿 The performances will be held on Thursday, August 21.8. 14–16 in Viinatehdas (at the Manilla Culture Factory).
