Channel 4 has revealed these first look pictures for Number 10, the comedy drama series set in the Prime Minister's house. Written by Steven Moffat, the series stars Rafe Spall as the Prime Minister, Katherine Kelly as the Chief of Staff and Jenna Coleman as the Deputy Chief of Staff. The producers explain: "There's a Prime Minister in the attic, a coffee bar in the basement, and a wallpapered labyrinth of romance, crisis and heartbreak in-between. Set in the only terrace house in history with mice and a nuclear deterrent, it's the only knock-through in the world where a hangover can start a war. The government will be fictional and unspecific, but the problems will be real. "We'll never know which party is in power, because once the whole world hits the fan it barely matters. This is a show about the building and everyone inside. Not just the Prime Minister upstairs, but the conspiracy theorist who runs the cafe three floors below, the man who repairs the lift that never works, the madly ambitious 'advisors' fighting for office space in cupboards. Oh, and of course, the cat. "A drama about one of the most famous addresses in the world, Number 10 is all of Britain in a house: it's British history under one roof. It's how we all got into the mess we're in. It's also our only hope of getting out of it." Transmission details will be revealed in due course. #Number10 #RafeSpall #JennaColeman #KatherineKelly

Pictures from The Reluctant Vampire, the upcoming comedy series based on the 1982 book by Eric Morecambe. Today (14th May) is the centenary anniversary of the Morecambe & Wise star. Adapted by Alan Partridge writers Rob and Neil Gibbons, the show follows Val (Lenny Rush) trying to live up to his father Victor's (Tom Davis) high expectations. Val is hiding a secret as big as his cape: he is not part of the great undead, he is, in fact very much alive. The series will see Val explore his newly discovered human side, whilst dealing with a casket-load of expectations from his tradition obsessed vampire dad, constant attempts to foil him from his suspicious brother, Vernon (Gabriel Nagy), and not always helpful advice from doting mum Valeeta (Sian Clifford), who is the only one in the family who knows his true identity. Watching over the chaos from above are the castle's unmistakable gargoyles (Bill Bailey and Ross Noble, the ever-observant, stone-faced figures looming over the castle from their lofty perches. They feature in this preview clip introduced by Rush: The gargoyles are not the only residents at the castle. Also lurking in the ancient keep are Wilf the Werewolf (Joe Wilkinson) and Igon (Asim Chaudhry) the much put-upon assistant to the vampire 'fang-ily', proving that co-habiting under one castle roof can be a real monster of a house share. Meanwhile, leading the villagers' charge and ready to raise a little hell against the bloodsuckers is John (Charlie Cooper). At home he's supported by wife Susan (Esther Smith) and kept on his toes by daughter Gertie (Ellie-May Sheridan) who forms a friendship with Val. The Reluctant Vampire will rise on BBC iPlayer and BBC One later this year. #TheReluctantVampire #LennyRush #SianClifford #TomDavis #JoeWilkinson #AsimChaudhry #CharlieCooper #EstherSmith #GabrielNagy #EllieMaySheridan

BBC One has commissioned Opening Up, a new comedy series created and written by Edinburgh Comedy Award winner Amy Gledhill and Starstruck writer Nic Sampson about a couple who switch to an open relationship. The BBC says: "The six-part series will be made by Avalon for BBC iPlayer and BBC One, continuing in a rich line of scripted series created by artists with Edinburgh Festival Fringe success, such as Phoebe Waller-Bridge's Fleabag and Rose Matafeo's Starstruck." Opening Up, set and filmed in and around Manchester, is described as a "warm relationship comedy" focusing on Penny (Amy Gledhill) and Rhys, a long-term couple who try to fix their faltering sex life by sleeping with other people. They soon learn that entering an open relationship without a clue how they work is not a recipe for success... The casting for the part of Rhys has not yet been announced. Amy Gledhill and Nic Sampson say: "It's an actual dream come true to get to make a comedy with the BBC, and their support and passion for this project has been incredible from the very start. We are thrilled to get to work with such a stacked cast and crew every day to bring this show to life. We can't wait to show you what we've been working on."

Derry Girls star Jamie-Lee O'Donnell is to lead the cast of new BBC One comedy Hopley Hall. Described as a "big, warm hearted ensemble sitcom" from Daniel Peak, co-writer of Not Going Out, the series is set around an historic and slightly shabby Grade 1 listed house in the Northern Ireland countryside. Hopley Hall (a working title) follows the ensemble of staff and volunteers who keep the house running: a motley group of enthusiasts, innocents, idiots and sociopaths. Producers tease: "For generations the home of the Hopley family, its current sole resident is the ancient, bewildered and very English Lady Hopley and the estate's survival depends on tourism. Not quite as popular as the castle down the road (where they filmed some of the House Of The Dragon series, the jammy beggars), Hopley Hall still has plenty to offer - or so they think." Jamie-Lee O'Donnell says: "Delighted to be at the forefront of Daniel Peak's new BBC comedy series and looking forward to bringing this fun and exciting project to life. I'll see you soon at Hopley Hall."

BBC One has confirmed that its hit sitcom Amandaland will be back for a third series. In Series 2, which launched last week, we saw the tiniest of romantic frissons between Amanda and fellow divorcee and neighbour Mal (Samuel Anderson), we also met Mal's ex, no-nonsense Abs (Harriet Webb), with whom Amanda struggled to connect. And of course, Anne (Philippa Dunne) who remains Amanda's loyal and long-suffering best friend. Series 3 will continue the stories. Co-writer and creator Holly Walsh and co-writer Laurence Rickard say: "We are thrilled to be heading back to SoHa for a third series of Amandaland and delighted the show has found the sort of audience that Amanda's Instagram account could only dream of. We are already priming our keyboards to prompt AI into creating another batch of scripts and can't wait to be reunited with our incredible cast and crew."

Things You Should Have Done, the sitcom created by and starring Lucia Keskin, has been given the greenlight for a third series on BBC Three. The BBC says: "Created from the unique comedy mind of Lucia Keskin, the six-part series will bring another dose of hilariously offbeat, dysfunctional family-sitcom. "The series, filmed and set in Ramsgate, Kent, will welcome back self-confessed 'stay at home daughter' Chi (Lucia Keskin), as she navigates her way through a list of 'Things You Should Have Done' left by her late parents, with the aid of her dysfunctional remaining family Dave (Dan Fearn), Lucas (Jamie Bisping) and unhinged grief therapist Ruth (Bridget Christie). "This series will see Chi set out to be a positive force in the world following a brush with the law. Meanwhile, step-cousin Lucas is by her side, doing the wrong things for the right reasons, Dave worries about the legacy he's leaving behind, and Ruth has to turn therapy on herself when her life is shaken up." Lucia Keskin comments: "Thanks BBC for making me have to get out of bed and work again. I'm very excited to work with my favourite people even more."

BBC One has commissioned an eighth series of its hit Glasgow-set sitcom, Two Doors Down. The BBC says: "Series 8 picks up exactly where the 2025 Christmas special left us. Beth (Arabella Weir) and Eric (Alex Norton) are still clinging to the hope of a quiet life, but their best efforts are no match for the relentless chaos supplied by neighbours Colin (Jonathan Watson), Cathy (Doon Mackichan) and Christine (Elaine C. Smith). Meanwhile, Michelle (Joy McAvoy) is preparing for the new arrival, while Gordon (Kieran Hodgson) throws himself into further education. Alan (Graeme Stevely) and Ian (Jamie Quinn) return too, doing their level best to support their partners - with mixed results. "With its trademark blend of sharp character comedy and domestic disaster, the new series, set and filmed in Glasgow, drops us right back into the wonderfully claustrophobic and painfully familiar world of Latimer Crescent." Writer Gregor Sharp, who co-created the show with the late Simon Carlyle, says: "It was a lot of fun putting the band back together for the Christmas episode last year, so I'm really excited to be coming back with some new tunes, which we hope will turn out just as special. The cast are the most talented group of performers you could wish for, and I can't wait to get started."
