Our work with @TransLashMedia is Webby Nominated!!! 🥹🎉 We’re thrilled to share that the TransLash website has been nominated for a People’s Voice Award in the Websites & Mobile Sites – Belonging & Inclusion category. TransLash is an incredible, independent grassroots journalism organization dedicated to telling trans stories to save trans lives. Together, we built a brand and website that brought more clarity to their story, provided resources to their community, and created a platform for trans voices to be elevated. We're so proud of this work, and so grateful to the TransLash team for continuing to entrust us with their vision. If you have a moment before April 16, you can vote for TransLash in the People’s Voice Awards under Websites & Mobile Sites – Belonging & Inclusion at the link in our bio 🔗

The latest iteration of our Truth and Reconciliation Action Plan is now live, marking another step forward in our reconciliation work. 🧡 This updated plan is more reflective and aligned with where we are, and where we’re headed. It deepens our focus on inclusive partnerships and community engagement, creating space for opportunities, and strengthening cultural learning across our team. You’ll also notice it now lives as a web page on our site, giving it space to evolve alongside us. Because this work is ongoing, and we’re here for the long haul. 🧡 Explore the updated plan in detail at the link in bio. Thank you to the many individuals who helped shaped this plan with their knowledge, lived experience, creativity, and care. Special thanks to @lenjpierre , @elainealec_ , Phyllis Webstad of @orangeshirtsociety , and Rhonda Friesen for their teachings and generosity. We're deeply grateful to Mariah Meawasige of @makoose for bringing this work to life through powerful and purposeful design. And to our EDI Committee, leadership team, and everyone at Briteweb: thank you. This work is a collective effort, and we’re honoured to be on this journey together. #TruthAndReconciliation #DecolonizationInAction

Grant writing can sometimes feel like a shot in the dark. Where do you find the right, relevant funding opportunities for your nonprofit? How do you know if it’s worth the effort? What makes an application stand out? We’re digging into these questions in an upcoming free webinar with nonprofit strategist and grant writer, Jessica Vestergaard, founder of The Grant Circle. Head to the link in our bio to save your spot (it's free!!)🔗 🇨🇦 This session is designed for Canadian nonprofits and purpose-driven teams who want to spend less time guessing, and more time applying for the right grants. 📅 Wednesday, May 6 at 11:00 am PST

@indiegrafmedia is helping shape the future of independent journalism. As a purpose-driven tech company, they support local media outlets across the Americas, with a focus on underserved communities. Their platform brings newsletters, subscriptions, payments, and advertising into one place, helping smaller, independent news organizations grow without relying on a single funder or revenue stream. As their work expanded, their brand needed to reflect something bigger: not just the technology, but the people and journalism they support. We partnered with Indiegraf to help evolve their brand identity so it better reflects their role in strengthening independent media organization, as well as the communities they serve. The result is a brand that feels aligned with the importance of their mission and where they’re headed next. Because when your organization scales, your brand should be built to move with it.

If you ever thought, “I know Arts Midwest probably has a helpful resource for this, but I don’t have time to dig for it,” we have a website update for you. For the last year, thanks to a grant from @bloombergdotorg , we’ve been working with creative agency @briteweb to dig into a deceptively simple question: What do Midwestern artists and arts organizations actually need online to learn and grow? The answer that kept surfacing wasn’t just more content. It was better organization, clearer pathways, and less friction between you and what you need. Click the link in our bio to see what's changed, and what's yet to come.

If your organization advocates for justice, equity, and inclusion.... shouldn’t your website also reflect those values? For teams working to serve communities, accessibility is more than a technical requirement. It’s about making sure the people you’re trying to reach can actually access your information, resources, and services online. Our Senior UX/UI Designer, Ben Groulx, is hosting a free webinar on accessibility-first web design, where he’ll share practical ways to identify barriers on your website and design more inclusive digital experiences from the start. 📅 March 31, 9:30 am PT / 12:30 pm ET 💻 Free webinar Comment “WEBINAR” and we’ll DM you the registration link 🤩

As a woman-owned, women-led agency, the culture our team has built together is no accident. It takes a different kind of leadership to create a space where everyone feels comfortable sharing their ideas openly, celebrating each other's accomplishments, and leading with empathy. There's something to be said for more woman-led spaces in the working world. Spaces like this matter, now more than ever. Today we’re celebrating the women on our team, and the many women in our community doing the important work that moves things forward. We see you, and we celebrate you. Happy International Women’s Day from the Briteweb team ✨

In our line of work, we see a LOT of website RFPs. And we've seen them all: the good, the bad, and the ugly. What many social impact organizations don't understand is that a solid RFP lays the foundation for a solid website project. It goes beyond a formality. It's an opportunity to let potential agencies into your world, get them excited about your mission, and provide them with the context they need to shape a proposal, and a project, that makes your whole team feel ✨seen✨. Here's 5 things we wish every nonprofit and social impact org knew about creating the perfect website RFP. 1. Set a realistic timeline. An agency who proposes a faster turnaround doesn’t always mean the work will be better. A project life cycle should be honoured, not rushed. 2. Be Transparent About Budget – Even including a range helps agencies right-size their approach and saves you from surprises or disappointment down the line. 3. Clarify the Decision-Making Process – Let vendors know who’s involved and how you’ll evaluate proposals. 4. Share Your “Why” – Explain why the project matters and how it supports your mission; but also share why you’re choosing this moment in time. 5. Plan for the Long Term – Your agency partner should be in it for the long haul. Let them know you want to build for scalability and future-proofing. Anything we missed? Let us know ⬇️

Meet Jill de Chavez, owner of @briteweb - a creative agency focused on making meaningful impact. @briteweb partners with nonprofits and foundations, helping them clarify their message and amplify the work they’re doing in the world. From employee to owner, Jill’s approach is deeply personal. Entrepreneurship runs in her family - from immigrant parents to a grandfather who built a small ice cream factory that still exists today. That legacy shaped how she leads: purpose-driven, people-first, and rooted in integrity. #AnAgencyStory

You can't quite put your finger on it, but something about your brand feels... off. Maybe it's the logo that hasn't been revisited since 2004. Maybe your mission statement feels clunky. Or maybe it's the outdated brand guidelines that are lost in a folder somewhere. Your story just isn't resonating the way it should, but not for lack of heart and hard work. You're pretty sure it’s time for some brand TLC, but the harder question is HOW. How do you step back and objectively evaluate your own brand? How do you build the case for change (and get your team and your funders on board) without defaulting to, “it just doesn’t feel right”? That’s exactly what we’ll unpack in our upcoming webinar, hosted by Briteweb's Creative Director, Kaila Jacques. Kaila will walk through what branding really is, how to assess whether your brand still reflects the impact you’re making, and how to clearly articulate when and why a rebrand is worth the investment.
