“Empowerment has never been neutral.
It has always been seen as a threat”
All I ever wanted was a bankroll, strictly off art just to show the kids this is a career option and not just a hobby! Believe in yourself, even if you don’t have the voices around you encouraging you to do so!

The painting evokes an atmosphere that is both eerie and deeply empathetic, centering on a young boy encircled by crows—figures he once embraced as companions, only to discover their vulture-like nature. What began as trust is revealed as deception, transforming innocence into awareness. Subtle traces of blood scattered throughout the composition serve as quiet markers of betrayal, symbolizing how his kindness was exploited by those he believed to be friends. Yet the work is not solely a meditation on loss; it traces the boy’s evolution from naivety to resolve. In this moment of reckoning, vengeance is not portrayed as chaos, but as reclamation—a promise that those who mocked his faith will ultimately be confronted by the consequences of their mishaps.

This piece is dedicated to @hobo_new_ink who most recently underwent a successful heart transplant only to be diagnosed with stage 3 testicular cancer shorty after. @hobo_new_ink was the first person in the Atlanta art community I looked to towards guidance in my art career so it’s my duty to carry on a mission like this.
