I finally decided I needed a proper place to showcase my dancing journey. Here’s my story:
I grew up dancing competitively, having started at age 3 in ballet class. I performed improv solos, competed in 30+ person production numbers, took classes in hip hop, modern, lyrical, and jazz. One day I had to choose between club soccer and competition dance, and I chose soccer (not knowing who I really was and what I wanted at age 11).
Fast forward several years later and I found myself completely done with playing soccer, loving EDM music and dancing at shows, going to festivals, etc.
The first few frames in this video are the very first times I started practicing in my old apartment in San Diego. The pandemic had just hit and I was single, bored, and needed a new hobby. A friend from UVM had sent me some IG pages of girls shuffling and I was instantly amazed and realized I needed to try it. Learning how to shuffle just made perfect sense ✨

33 years ago today the world became a brighter place and a lot more fun.
