Thank you to our gorgeous opening night audience last week! And thanks to our dedicated few who vox popped in the rain! We’re appreciate your joy and company so much 😊
We’re back again this Saturday!
5.15pm @basementspace@nzcomedyfestival
Our experimental, whimsical and gay little show is on for 2 more nights, this and next Saturday at 5.15pm, @basementspace ✨
I accidentally deleted 2 years worth of the Comedy Culture Google Drive last night (pls don’t ask I am fragile and technology is my kryptonite) so in order to protect my sanity, I’m posting these sick shots from our mate @madonsocial who so gracefully captured our opening night @nzcomedyfestival show.
If you need some catharsis or just to get out of the house and be held by your new, albeit seemingly still 12 year old mates, we’ve got you! These times are SHIT. I’ll be the first to admit my mental health is suffering bad atm but at least, if nothing else, we have laughter. If you are keen to come but the finances get you down, give me a bell. We’d love to have you come laugh with us and forget how serious all this shit has become. 🧡
Our first review! 🌟
Actively working on developing a show as experimental as this means it’s not for everyone but boy, our opening night audience came along and got amongst it 100% anyway! This review perfectly captures the vibe and is so validating to be seen exactly where you’re at with a piece that’s so devised and chaotic as this! Thank you Blackguard Media reviews for seeing us as our complete, passionate selves! 🤩
We have two more shows this @nzcomedyfestival - come along and join the chaos, or don’t, raw, unfiltered fun isn’t for everyone xx 😘
This year, I really wanted to lean in to my craft MORE but it is and has been clouded by 8 continuous months of prep for 3 different Fringe Festivals all leading up to the final romp via the NZ Comedy Festival this month and I am TIRED! (Burnt out, ones Therapist may say). May will see the end of my full forced producer brain as I ease back into a more focused alignment with myself as both a performer and continuous student of clown, sketch and improv. I'm also currently studying a Certificate in Clown so ya know, I got clown on the brain even more than usual and I hunger to consume it all. I love seeing comedy formats tested, broken and thrown around a stage which is why I've compiled a list of my "FARK I HOPE I HAVE TIME TO SEE THIS's" for this festival. I definitely won't, a lot are on at the same time but that's life eh. In a market over-saturated with stand-up comedy, forced crowd work and the desire for stardom, I LONG to just be a part of a theatre experience that immerses me so deeply within it that I forget where I am for even just an hour. This list isn't just of my friends shows, I don't want to do these "recommendations" that just make some people feel like they've been left out. I love my friends, they're fucking funny, of course they are! This is just people I admire doing things I love and I hope others will be able to find the same sense of joy as I do when watching.
Classic Bridie and Rebecca! 🎤🤝🎤
If you haven’t been graced by the whimsical chaos these two conjure then you’re in luck! They kick off our run of Nz International Comedy festival shows tomorrow night and are already OVER HALF SOLD OUT!

Rebecca and I started working on this show in October 2025 with a WIP at Good Times in Christchurch and it was a COMPLETELY different show. After two more runs of shows in Wellington at NZ Fringe and then Dunedin Fringe, one thing became certain, we wanted to break any traditional format of comedy that the @nzcomedyfestival had seen and in turn devised a show completely from improv that is a true collaboration of our ADHD riddled, improv-passionate, nostalgia-filled, joy-chasing brains. Having hosted so many shows together over the past year and a bit, this show will take you on a journey into the heart of Bridie & Rebecca and spit you back out.
We open on Saturday this week.
