Here are some rocking knives made by students in my most recent class. Forged from 1095 high carbon, steel, and differentially heat treated, there are excellent for things like chopping up garlic, herbs, onion, cutting pizza, and also, because of their handhold being close to the tip, for cutting up chicken. Very proud of my students! They all did a stellar job.

Here is the process of recreating the famous Soviet B.A.M. axe, designed and built to facilitate the construction of the Baikal-Amur Mainline railroad. The slightly modified version was forged from a single bar of 2”x2” W-1 tool steel, and put on an ash wood handle rather than the original’s birch. You can see the original next to my version in the final frame. This is the first prototype; more to come.
