What do you post when the world is on fire?
Charlie Kirk's death and the subsequent flooding the field of Christian nationalist rhetoric has been disturbing and disheartening. I'm reminded of all of the ways that hurt humans hurt humans. I'm hearing the same stuff I heard in church for 15 years: calls to violence, hope for revival. My stomach hurts. I'm grateful I got out. I'm devastated for those who haven't gotten out. I'm devastated for those I hurt.
But I did get out. Lots of other people have too. This @bww_atlanta review came out the week after @fatjulietplay closed, and there hasn't been a good time to share it.
But I'm sharing it now, because it's part of my liberation story. There's no such thing as one way liberation. This story was built in community, and will continue to be shared that way.
Keep making the art that scares you. Hold your loved ones close.
