At the new Bassick High School, students in the Tango Flight program are gaining hands-on experience in aviation and engineering — building 12-foot aircrafts and earning certifications in key skills like sheet metal work, riveting, and drilling.
The program’s dedicated aviation space allows students to explore STEM careers through real-world application and mentorship from aviation professionals.
🗣 “This program showed me that I can do anything I set my mind to.”
🗣 “It’s incredible to see how much we’ve learned — we’re building something real.”
With support from Three Wing Aviation and industry mentors, students are developing the skills, confidence, and teamwork that will carry them far beyond the classroom.

Together, they read The Mary A. McBride-Lee Story: A Child’s View from the Foot of the Edmund Pettus Bridge by Rev. Lee.
The book gave students a chance to learn about courage, hope, and history through the eyes of a child. It was a meaningful moment centered around reading, reflection, and helping our students connect with important stories from the Civil Rights Movement.
