I spent the best afternoon at @darcymiller studio, along with other amazing creatives, discussing how planning any type of event isn’t about the party, it’s about celebrating life, enjoying the moment, and being together. I’m sad I didn’t take more photos of the space and Darcy's illustrations, but I was busy being present. (And, okay, everyone who knows me well knows I’m taking photos of sweets.) It’s the most joyous place to generate and create ideas to personalize any milestone or celebration. The patio is especially delightful. If you can’t make it to the studio, don’t miss out on her book Celebrate Everything.
So excited to be part of @nytstyle Special Wedding Section with my stories on understanding the costs of weddings, making the latest wedding-planning trends your own, ready-to-wear brands offering bridal wear, and the latest wedding dress styles from #nybfw. I hope all the to-be-weds enjoy the read and get some insight for their big day.
Finally posting some (random) moments from my much needed post-NYBFW getaway at @thesistersofcedarlakes with @alexandrasanidad last weekend. I skimped on the photos because we gossiped and ate a lot.
Originally founded in 1929 as a summer camp for African American kids from Harlem until 1979, this upscale property has evolved into hosting gorgeous weddings and relaxing retreats in the woods without losing its essence—camp alumni to this day return to revisit the campground for reunions.
A well-thought-out menu (including the best cheese board ever and a cheeky drinks menu) keeps you fueled for activities like hiking, biking or long naps. We opted for the long naps.
Sharing some of the beautiful wedding-worthy spaces I had the pleasure to visit in Rome with @theweddingprive . The original frescos in the ballroom of @stregisrome , the design elements at @villaaureliagianicolo , and the views of the Eternal City from Terrazza dei Templari and @castellotorcrescenza_official all blew me away. Fun fact, Terrazza dei Templari, a former convent, is right next to the famed Aventine Keyhole, where people line up to get the spectacular view of St. Peter's Basilica.
Dear gentle reader, I, like you, am waiting to see how the sparks between the scandalous rogue (but hottie) Benedict and the innocent Sophie turn out. Until then, I hope you enjoy my @nytstyle piece on Bridgerton-inspired wedding venues. @bridgertonnetflix
It happened last night...@misshayleypaige official return to bridal! It was an honor to be part of the fun and fabulousness. And I’m excited for what @hayleypaigebride is bringing to her faithful fans and the new generation of brides discovering her.
With her new collection, she’s done an amazing job at not only keeping to the DNA of her brand, but most importantly elevating it for the current bridal fashion market.
