This image is from 2024 , as I was MCing the second time that If We Cant See it We Cant Be it ran.
This year it will be the 4th year the event has run as part of the Shepparton Arts Festival.
This event is something I started because on my own journey it wasnt always a path that was easy or that I could see a clear path too.
I believe as a First Nation creative artist I feel a sense of obligation to use my skills my platform & connections to create a strong cultural space for our people to feel comfortable confident & empowered.
I believe our culture is our compass and it brings us back home to where our ancestors always wanted us to be l.
This event is also more than event it is a movement that I believe in strongly in more and more of us seeing things action to become them as cultural people connected to the worlds oldest living culture.
I see it everyday in my son how he follows what he sees with learning and singing in language and how the young people really get captivated and gravitate to music and culture.
Foe this years event I am excited to have a deadly lineup of outstanding first nations cultural creative practioners Alice Skye, Philly , Alchemy Orange Chain Breaker ft Darah, Kaya , and Zane
They will share their talents for this years If We Cant See It We Cant Be It this Sunday March 29th at the Vault in Shepparton.
Doors open at 11:30am with event Running from 12pm - 3:30 pm.
This event is also sponsored by Rumbalara Aboriginal Co-operative, Regional Arts Victoria, Robbo Electrical , Kaiela Arts, Still Here Arts & Culture
