I am now an official @guinnessworldrecords holder for the largest collection of Bearbricks from @medicom_toy . After a year of documenting, filtering duplicates, and gathering evidence, I officially broke the record for the largest collection of Bearbricks with a final count of 3,482 unique figures.
It all started with a simple question from my daughter, Selena, and turned into a massive logicstical challenge involving:
1. The Evidence: Documenting 3,000+ items with photos and descriptions.
2. The Experts: Shoutout to Sam from Toy de Jour in Logan Square, Chicago, for serving as my expert witness.
3. The Tech: I used my IT consulting background to automate the documentation process.
This journey wasn’t just about the plastic toys but it was about discipline, passion, and showing my family that any hobby can become a world-class achievement. Records are meant to be broken. Who’s going to be the next one to break the record?

Full set of BAPE SHARK CAMO 🦈 Collecting Bearbricks really feels like a never-ending rabbit hole. I mainly enjoy collecting the 100% Bearbricks, so I usually avoid the 400% sets unless they really appeal to me, and I’ve been sticking with the 100% size. Recently, however, some 400% sets have started including two 100% Bearbricks in the pack (like the Bape Alpha Industries and Bape Canada Goose), so I decided to try collecting the Bape Shark Camo Bearbricks. This recent collecting journey has been the most enjoyable so far, and the satisfaction of seeing my collection grow piece by piece has been immense.
Bape Shark Camo is a unique design pattern created by the Japanese streetwear brand A Bathing Ape (BAPE). This pattern, known as one of Bape’s iconic symbols, combines a shark face graphic with a camouflage design. This design is also used on figures and merchandise like Bearbricks, with a total of 44 Bearbricks in this style as of 2024.
There’s a total of 72 Bape Bearbricks on the display stand. Special thanks to my collector friends that helped me get some of the Bape 100% orphans.

My favorite Bearbrick of 2026. The Back to the Past Bearbrick is a region-exclusive release out of Hong Kong to commemorate the theatrical sequel to the legendary 2001 time-travel drama ‘A Step Into the Past’, starring Louis Koo. Designed in collaboration with fashion brand SPARKLE by KAREN CHAN, the figure features a matte “pottery gray” and “earthy terracotta brown” color palette to evoke an ancient Terracotta Warrior. To launch the movie, a massive, life-sized 3000% version of the Bearbrick was installed as a public exhibit at Hong Kong’s Ngong Ping 360. For collectors, it was made available in standard 100% and 400% sizes, distributed exclusively via localized channels like Hong Kong 7-Eleven pre-orders.
Yup. Still my favorite design of 2026.

@snowpeak_official (Snow Peak), Japan’s premier outdoor lifestyle brand, dropped a ~10-piece collaboration spanning titanium camp cups, a long chair, a snow globe, and of course, Bearbricks in both 100% and 400%.
Known for pioneering the luxury camping (or “glamping”) movement, Snow Peak has built a devoted following around its minimalist, high-design philosophy. The Bearbrick itself is notoriously easy to sleep on. The understated design and Snow Peak’s lower mainstream recognition in the Bearbrick world means resellers often pass right over it. That’s a mistake. For collectors who gravitate toward the Camper, Dusty, JSA, or CLS families, this one belongs in the conversation and on the shelf.

Japanese idol @takahisaaaamasudaaaa (Takahisa Masuda), member of the J-pop group NEWS has his own Bearbrick line centered around his beloved “Neko-masu” character. Neko-masu is a cat-themed mascot that Masuda created himself, with the name blending neko (the Japanese word for cat) with his fan nickname “Massu,” a nod to his distinctly cat-like facial features.
It’s a fitting creation for someone with a deep creative streak as Masuda has been designing his group’s stage costumes for years, making him one of the more artistically hands-on figures in the J-pop world.
The three Bearbricks in the back are from the NEWS 20th Anniversary Be@rbrick set, a special limited-edition collectible released to celebrate the group’s milestone anniversary.

The opening of @bearbrick_connect in South Korea this year was a landmark event, especially with that massive 12,000% figure acting as the ultimate centerpiece. The exclusive “operator” release is a standout piece, successfully bringing the mechanic character from the MMORPG game into the physical world with incredible detail.
These were strictly promotional “not for sale” items given to cafe customers. It is rare to see a digital avatar translated so faithfully into the classic Bearbrick silhouette, complete with the industrial teal accents and technical markings. The fact that you had to be physically present at the Paju opening to secure one makes the Bearbrick even more special for the community. Hope to visit Paju in the near future!

Arashi (meaning “Storm”) is one of Japan’s most iconic boy bands, and they are currently in the spotlight as they prepare to conclude their legendary 27-year run later this month. To commemorate their final “We are ARASHI” tour, a new Bearbrick was launched in March 2026. It features an all-over “water transfer” print of various Arashi live tour logos from their 27-year history.
You may occasionally see an Blue/Orange Arashi Bearbrick (2002) on the secondary market. It was a commemoration of the movie “PIKANCHI”, starring ARASHI, and sold in Tokyo.

May the 4th be with you. Medicom Toys returns with Series 2 of the Star Wars BE@RBRICK Chase, picking up where last year’s successful debut left off. This time, the focus shifts to The Mandalorian universe with six figures: Din Djarin, Grogu, Bo-Katan Kryze, Ahsoka Tano, Boba Fett (Recovered Armor), and Moff Gideon. The secret chase features an alternate design of The Mandalorian. Grogu steals the spotlight with his uniquely shortened BE@RBRICK legs, a small detail that makes a big impression.
