But I was curious as to what business mistakes he is seeing young artists continuing to make when we caught up at Yahoo Finance HQ.
After all, Akon has seen and done it all in the industry — including being one of the last artists to work with Michael Jackson.
“Oh, flossing,” he said is the top mistake on my Power Players podcast. You know, pretending to be what they ain’t — keeping up with the Joneses because I think money has this level of luxury that everyone wants to be attached to. And then once you’re attached to it, that becomes leverage to get whatever you want in life.”

Interesting perspective from Dr. Esper on declining enlistment in the military by today’s youth:
“Yeah, I mean, the numbers are stunning. I’ve written about it but out America’s youth today, there’s let’s say between 30 and 34 million each year, 78% are unqualified to serve. And the top reason is obesity. And then from there you get into drug use and mental health issues and maybe just not smart enough. And I mean the issues go on and on, but we cannot have a nation where 78% of our youth are unqualified to serve. So I think first and foremost, we have to think about how do we get our kids in better shape, and how do we get them more engaged? And, and how do we make sure that you, of course, always stay away from drugs because not only do you you always need fitness in combat, but as our military becomes more and more technical we’re relying increasingly more on AI and autonomous systems we’re going to need young people who understand and who are smart enough to use this technology.”

“Everybody seems to be drinking Coke Zero,” @briansozzi says. Coke Zero sales are up 13% in Coca-Cola’s Q1 earnings report. “That is some of the strongest growth in non-sugar carbonated beverages I have seen out there,” Sozzi added. Coke Zero is “by far our best innovation, I’d say over the last 25 years,” Coca-Cola President & CFO John Murphy says.
My personality is such that when I’m all in, I’m REALLY all in. Like insanely in.
And that was my mindset when I entered @ogtrainingacademy more than 2 (maybe 3?) years ago. What started as two classes a week has morphed into, well, a lot of classes a week lol. I wanted to push myself as far as I do at work, right up to the brink.. if not beyond it.
The byproduct: somehow shaving 29 minutes off a Hyrox sim time compared to 365 days ago this weekend. Insane. Insane progress. I’ve never been fitter or more capable to unlock 10 extra gears at work.

My man @csrnyc and I have more than one month left to prepare for our first @hyroxamerica doubles in NYC. We are both ready to go off the deep end to fine tune ourselves before race day.
My goal: just not to hurt myself over the course of the next 4 weeks cause then no race! 😂
