Sometimes I feel like I need to niche down to reach the highest peak I’m capable of climbing, but I love the beauty in all things.
One of my favorite messages that is often misquoted.
A jack of all trades is a master of none, but often times better than a master of one.”

I’m passionate about what I do and I want to create and collaborate with like minded individuals!
Some people don’t want to look like they’re trying hard. Trying hard, being authentic and committed to something is the most magnetic thing anyone can do.
What motivates you in this season of life? Let’s capture it!

Every Wednesday morning I’ve had the pleasure to ride with a great group of cyclists. Today was a special memorial ride honoring Rapha Ride Leader John “Panda” Hermoso - Panda’s Ponies.
You might also recognize parts of the ride from the Michael Jackson movie and others as well! It’s a beautiful area with epic views and wildlife. Keep an eye out as it seems to be coyote central.
Have you ever done this ride?

How often do you look through your old photo albums and relive the days of yesteryear?
I was looking back through 35mm film shots of my sweetie. First pic going back to 2011. Those days fill my heart with pure joy. I felt such purpose and energy in everything we did together. It’s why I take photos. To hold onto what matters and feel it again all these years later.

Happy Halloween
Creaking wood with each step as I moved slowly through the abandoned buildings and hillsides. Sounds of rattling doors and freezing winds kept me company as I explored with the ghosts of Bannack.
As my dad likes to say, “Spoooooky” 👻
Highly recommend visiting Bannack Ghost Town.
Thanks to Vigilante Electric for bringing me out to shoot the beautiful area.

Right place at the right time
While on a portrait photoshoot last year, I thought I saw a big dog. Turned out to be a black bear. It was coming out of a drain to get some stretching in and all the scratches it hadn’t been able to get to crammed in there.
The images were just featured on a full page spread in Montana Outdoor Magazine. @montanafwp
Cool feature on an article about bears in Missoula!
Scroll to the end to see a video of the bear 🐻

After my daughter left for college, I was coming off a health scare, and a close family member was fighting for his life. He’s thriving now, thankfully. At the time, I felt a lot of self inflicted pressure to live life to the fullest. Business, health, everything. I wanted to hit the ground running, do all the things, and inspire the people around me. But instead, I felt lost. I was overwhelmed with grief and unsure of who I was or where to put my energy in the next chapter.
Sometimes we need to reset to break the spin cycle in our minds. I had made plans for a sunrise hike in Glacier with friends, but they just missed the 6am cutoff into the park. It turned out to be a blessing for me. I spent the day alone in the mountains, fully present with the beauty and the light.
While sitting along the shoreline, I decided I’d try and take some updated photos of myself for my website. A little step toward reshaping my identity. Nothing like nature to connect with your inner creative. I was having fun, and carried that into the next morning at Two Medicine.
If you’re heading into the empty nest phase, I want you to know it will be okay. You still have something meaningful to offer the world. Let yourself grieve, but do not wait to live the beautiful life that is still in front of you!

Have you ever spent time around someone who is obsessed with what they do? They research, study and strive for excellence with their craft.
Thats how I feel every time I hang around @justin_windham on the river. I love seeing his artistry, focus and passion to fish.
When I go on these trips nowadays, I pick up the rod less and less and just love to watch my friends and the nature around us. Some of my favorite stills from this trip!

Ever wanted to capture a time in your life? A milestone birthday?
That’s what @laicegomalley and I did.
The smartest, funniest and most optimistic person I know. She’s a talented writer, actress and moves in front of a lens like few can.
She’s a beautiful, radiant and genuine person who lights up any room. She makes her friends, family and even strangers feel seen and confident with her compliments, positivity and kind heart.
If you’re lucky enough to know her, well then, you’re lucky enough.

Doing what you love with people you love. Is there anything better?
The feelings of empty nest are something I never could have prepared for. Two weeks after my daughter left for college, we had already reached the longest amount of time we had ever been apart. About six weeks after she left, I was sure missing her. We were casually chatting on the phone and she mentioned that her and a best friend- some my favorite humans were going to summit a peak about halfway between us. Without hesitation, I yelled out in excitement, “Can I join you guys?” They were both hoping I could.
I got little sleep that night with the anticipation of adventure. Woke up early and drove a little over three hours to meet them for one special day.
I remember seeing her again for the first time in nearly two months as she came walking into the grocery store with a big grin on her face. I couldn’t have been happier to see my little girl and wrap her up for a cherished hug.
We grabbed some snacks and drove to the trailhead for our crazy hike in the Crazy Mountains of Montana! 16 miles and 4,400 feet of elevation gain. Great effort sandwiched between work, practices, and school assignments! High up at the top, there was almost no plant life, little oxygen, but enough to fill the mountains with laughter and share smiles as wide as our big state of Montana. It felt like we were in outer space on another planet. We watched the incredible sunset and hiked out in the dark, wondering what kind of predators might be out there!
We had a blast and it’ll be an unforgettable memory we’ll always have.
Can’t wait to see what we’ll do on a whim next!
My Grandma Marlene
May 1st, 1936 - March 4th, 2025
About 10 years ago, I asked my her some questions about love. She told me her greatest love was her children. I’d like to argue that her brother was right up there too. She didn’t believe love was a choice. “Love cannot be measured or cut off. Without love, life is unbearable. Nothing—power or money—can compare to it.”
As I reflect on the impact my grandma had on me, I am realizing how instrumental she was in shaping my confidence as a creative.
She had a way of making people feel seen. Every time I saw her, she’d remind me what an incredible artist I was and talk about how impressed she was with a coyote art piece I made…In the 1st grade haha.
She loved piano, playing and teaching most of her life. When I first started photography, I took a photo of one that I edited dark & gritty. She printed it above her piano and would tell her students what a great photographer and artist I was. Having her believe in me, showing me how proud she was with both words, and actions was a true gift. Thank you Grandma!
Here are a few of my favorite photos of her long, beautiful life.
