VIBE Fashion: âThe Playerâs Clubâ
âThe streets have long had a major impact on fashion. Now hip hop and urban music are setting the trends.â
This fun club themed editorial from VIBE magazine not only has a feel-good energy about it but has some cool hidden gems as well. Antoinette wears the rare Lucien Pellat-Finet sweater with graphics by Takashi Murakami on slide 5-6. Dao-Yi Chow can be seen rocking a sporty suit and hat by Tom Ford for Gucci. A young Channing Tatum can be found on slide 9-10. Other cameos include J Alexander Martin of FUBU, Tony Shellman and Chaka Wilson of Mecca and Enyce, photographer Barron Claiborne, model Tyson Beckford, among many others If youâre able to spot anyone I missed, tag them in the comments!

#tbt Opening night of the new @kehindewiley âA Maze Of Powerâ show was a definite highlight of my time in #Paris. More than a decade in the making and more than worth the wait, the historic @quaibranly exhibit features 11 past and current African presidents and invites viewers to wrestle with ideas ranging from the vestiges of colonialism to the thorny complexities of true power on the continent. As weâve come to expect, the work is outstanding (and the presidential fashion is giving)! Beyond proud of you K.
Standing ovation. Slow clap. Bravo. â¤ď¸đđŞđž
Celebrating the harvest of an 11-year journey and cementing his position as one of the most important Black Artists of the century in the discourse of historical representation,
@KehindeWiley âA maze of powerâ might be his best body of work, yet.
A first never-seen-before portraiture of past and current African Presidents through a candid, human, yet powerful lens stripping the public from political aversion â or not â
This exhibition opens a wider conversation on the importance of factual documentation of the very complex History and power dynamics of an entire continent, unfolding right in front of our eyes.
Art at its best. Thought-provoking and beautiful.
Peep my favorite portrait in the end, the video doesnât pay justice, but the details and colors of the kente are out of this world đ¤
On view @QuaiBranly until January 14, 2023.
