Your personal energy shapes your experience, your choices, and the way you show up each day for yourself and others. đ
If you want to improve any or all of the above, it is worth paying attention to what detracts from your energy vs. what helps restore it.
Some attitudes, habits, environments, and people leave you feeling depleted. Others help you feel calmer, clearer, and more like yourself again. đ
You may not be able to remove every source of stress from your life, but you can be more selective about what gets your time, your focus, and your attention.
Protecting your peace also requires making room for what fills your cup. đÂ
Try these suggestions:
â Give yourself something to look forward to.
â Set a goal and pair it with a reward.
â Add one simple reset to your day.
â Read, walk, or step away for a bit.
â Invest time with someone who lifts your spirits.
If you could give yourself one thing to help you recharge this week, what would it be? đŹ

In his all-ages classic, âOh, the Places Youâll Go!,â Dr. Seuss introduces the concept of the Waiting Place â a space where people sit idle, waiting for answers, opportunities, or change instead of moving ahead.
In the pursuit of dreams and aspirations, this is where many get stuck. They want more for their lives, but fear and indecision keep them standing still. đ
Some doubt the goal itself. Some question their ability to carry it out. Some keep telling themselves they will start one day, when they feel more ready, more confident, or more certain.
âOne dayâ sounds hopeful, but it often becomes a delay tactic instead of a decision.
I donât believe youâre meant to stay in the Waiting Place forever. At some point, you have to move forward and take action.
đ Start by fully committing to what you want to pursue. Once you define it clearly, decide that you are going after it, and that nothing is going to stop you!

âI truly believe in the power of humans creating music with acoustic instruments. Digital instruments just don't resonate with your body in the same way.â đŹ
Robert Emery is an award-winning conductor, pianist, composer and producer. đľđ
He made his London piano debut at 13, first conducted at 17, and became the youngest conductor ever to work at the Sydney Opera House at 23. Robert has conducted leading orchestras worldwide and collaborated with artists including Meat Loaf, Russell Watson and Stewart Copeland.Â
Next week on the âLifeExcellence with Brian Bartesâ podcast, @robertemeryofficial shares the decision that changed everything â and how rejecting the status quo became the foundation of his success.

I believe we are each called to make a difference in the world, and that call becomes clearer and louder when we start paying attention to where we can help. đ
Meaningful change starts when there is a willingness to use our time, talents, and treasures for others.
Doing so benefits the people we are helping, and it gives our life more purpose too.
You donât need a grand plan to begin. You just need the motivation to step in where you can.
Where do you feel inspired to help right now? đŹ

Last year, when I spoke at @tedxraleighnc , I shared a message that surprised a lot of people:
Excellence is much less exciting than expected. đĽą
Most people think success is defined by big âspotlightâ moments: the win, the world record, the medal, or the breakthrough.
This makes sense, because victories, milestones and achievements are what the world sees, celebrates, and remembers.
But excellence is really every crucial yet unglamorous thing that made that big moment possible â the early mornings, the disciplined habits, and the years of training, research, testing, correction, and repetition.
Looking into the lives of the worldâs best athletes, innovators, researchers, leaders, and creators proves this true every time.
The next time doubt begins to dim your drive, remember this: greatness isnât forged in the spotlight, and it isnât a matter of luck. Itâs built through the process.
Keep going â youâre still on the path!

Motherhood is often described as a thankless job, and there is some truth in that. The role calls for patience, sacrifice, consistency, and unwavering support each and every day. â°
Yet moms remain some of the greatest sources of strength, guidance, love, and wisdom in most of our lives.
Watching our daughters, Abby and Carly, care for their children has made that even clearer to me. It has also made me even more grateful for their mom, my wife Heidi, and the loving example she has set for our family.
Iâm sharing these quotes today to honor and thank the women in my life and motherly figures everywhere, recognizing the countless ways they show up for others. đ˛
Happy Motherâs Day to my moms, Cathy Troutman and Carol Todd, to the mother of our children, @heidibartes , and to @abbybartes and @_carly_bartes . đ

This past weekend, Heidi and I met our son Andy in New York for an unforgettable getaway packed into 48 incredible hours in one of the worldâs greatest cities. đ
From amazing meals and a long walk through Central Park to the inspiring modern and contemporary art at MoMA, the weekend was filled with memorable moments.
But the highlight was visiting Peloton Studios NYC for a live âBoss Rideâ with Ally Love (@allymisslove ). Earlier this year, I had the privilege of interviewing Ally on the LifeExcellence podcast, so getting to meet her in person â and experience the energy of a live studio ride firsthand â felt like a true full-circle moment.
Iâm incredibly grateful for the time together with Heidi and Andy, and for the opportunity to connect with Ally beyond the podcast. One of my favorite parts of hosting LifeExcellence is meeting guests in person â especially when I get to step into their world and experience firsthand where excellence comes to life.
đ§ I encourage you to listen to or watch Allyâs episode (EP087 of LifeExcellence) where we explore what makes Peloton different, the power of connection, and how small, consistent actions shape who we become.
đ´ââď¸ And if you want to experience it for yourself, take the 5/3/26 Boss Ride at peloton.com. Bonus points if you can find me in the studio!

Itâs easy to point to the clock when youâre feeling overwhelmed and burned out. When you have âno timeâ for yourself or others. â°
After all, you canât control how many hours are in a day or how fast they move!Â
However, you do have the power to control how you use those hours each day
Consider what you truly enjoy. Have you been able to make space for it, even with the demands of life?
If your answer is yes, youâve already proven itâs possible. â
If you want your life to reflect your goals and values, and your actions to align with your priorities, then you need to be intentional with your schedule.
đ˛ Hereâs a simple exercise to help you track your day, separate the important matters from expectations or filler activities, and make space for what youâve been putting off.
Whatâs one priority youâre ready to put back on the calendar? đď¸

Independent businesses count on people like you to notice and do business with them, and to share their story and help spread the word. Small Business Month is the perfect time to support local businesses you appreciate. đď¸
When you support the shops, services, and entrepreneurs in your community, you help keep trusted options nearby and give the people behind them more room to grow.
It doesnât have to cost extra (or anything). You can stay within your budget and still make a real difference.
đ˛ Here are some practical ways to show your support, starting with simple actions that donât require spending a penny.
Is there a business or provider in your area you want to shout out? Share the name and one easy way others can support it. đŹ
