This is a stained glass panel made for exhibition, it is titled ‘Children of Poseidon’ and will be on display at the CGS New Horizons Exhibition at Stourbridge Glass Museum from Saturday 13th July - 17th November 2024. I had a lot of fun creating this original panel. These images of a Blue Tit are of the 3rd panel in the series of 10. The Blue Tit is one of my favourite British birds along with the Robin which happens to be my favourite. The panel was hand painted and high fired paints, enamels and silver stain were used throughout.

I’ve been working on 10 privacy panels for a house in Glasgows West End and along with other work, I’ve finally finished them. The theme has been various birds and flora and each bird has to be recognised for what species it is. This panel shows a Goldfinch. Each panel has been hand painted, enamelled and stained using high fired glass paints, enamels and silver stain.

These images show various stages of a commissioned panel for Independent Rail Company. The subject matter was the training camps during WW2 for the SOE, Special Operations Executive. They were based around Arisaig on the rugged west coast of Scotland and were used to train British, Czech, Slovak and other nationalities. Arisaig House and other lodges and houses became a specialised military intelligence wing headquarters and provided various Commando skills including parachute training to the military personnel. The SOE eventually morphed into the SAS after the end of the war. The panel is now in a luxury train carriage which travels from England up to the Highlands and finishes at Arisaig.

This set of images show the progress of a stained glass commission titled ‘The Journey’ lt is based on a Robert Frost poem…The woods are lovely dark and deep, but l have promises to keep, and miles to go before I sleep and miles to go before l sleep.’ The clients wanted a night sky with stars and trees silhouetted, a pixie and they love dandelions, Chinese lanterns and poppyseed heads. I really enjoyed working on it, especially the pixie skipping over the seed heads as he continues on his journey. I made this stained glass panel in 2011 to commemorate the 200th anniversary of Balmanno House in Glasgow. The house was originally built to house the wounded sailors during and after the Napoleonic Wars.
