Got My Bro married this week! Here was my best man speech! Me and Santana go way back. We met in elementary school when we were about six years old, and along with our buddy Will Harris, we used to run around the Grant Ranch neighborhood being foolish kids. Now, foolish kids grow up to be foolish adults—so not much has changed. Even though Santana and I never went to school together, we always stayed connected—through football, video games, and family. That bond has never gone away. And speaking of sports—if you didn’t know this, Santana was quite the fish on the swim team. I still remember going to his meets and watching him rock that jock speedo like it was nobody else’s business. I think that’s when I realized—this guy has way more confidence than I ever will. Then there was football. Our dads were our coaches. And let me tell you—they weren’t exactly the “participation trophy” type of coaches. They were tough. But looking back, I think that taught us both a lot about work ethic, discipline, and probably a little trauma—but mostly discipline. Fast forward to today, Santana and I went from being teammates to business partners, building two successful restaurants together. And if you’ve ever worked in a restaurant, you know that when you’re in the weeds or fighting over food costs, you either come out stronger—or never talk again. Luckily, we came out stronger. And honestly, there’s no one else I’d rather argue with over how many napkins we ordered. Over the years, we’ve grown from kids into hard-working men. And along that journey, Santana found someone who truly makes him better. Erica—also known as Goose—you’re the perfect balance for him. You’re calm, cool, and collected. You can take all of his money in poker without even giving a hint. And you’ve spent years in healthcare, which I think was perfect training for the lifelong job of taking care of Santana. So seriously, cheers to you. But here’s the truth—Santana has never been happier, more grounded, or more ready for the future than he is with you, Erica. I’m so excited to watch you two take on life together, and I want you both to know that I’ll always be here for anything you need.

Our time together got me through so much and created structure to my life that helped me put one foot in front of the other.
