Some odds and ends - without much context. This week saw an end to a special 8 months experiencing Leadership Music alongside some of the most driven and positive people you'd ever care to meet. Also, a throwback pic of an ancient Gruene Hall show with PG and Fred on a scooter in Key West.
Our VP @brendon_anthonybltx is honored to be speaking at Music as an Economic Force with the Austin Chamber and Moody Center on April 21st.
The panel will be diving into how Austin’s music industry fuels economic growth, supports local businesses, and shapes the future of our city.
We are looking forward to joining an incredible group of leaders for this conversation.
Hope to see you there!

It's been another great week! Loved the opportunity to speak at University of Michigan to the Music Business students as keynote for their annual conference. Honored to advocate for the PVFA program at Texas A&M alongside some bona fide heroes of mine. So proud of new projects BLTX is working to release to the world, namely The Droptines and Waylon Payne who both had big projects see the light of day. Got some boat time and saw the house again for a minute.
Humbled to join my brothers in Music onstage at The Mother Church tonight. Much love to Brady for always pulling me out of my shell. Randy Rogers Band is still at the top of their game. Proud to know ya, friends.
📸 @hillary.lambert - thanks for catching this!
It's definitely been a week to remember! Tracking on Randy's fantastic new project, getting snowed in, and celebrating TX family and heroes. BIG congrats to Miranda Lambert, Freddy and Lisa, King George, Don Cook and the one and only Keith Gattis as they join the pantheon of Texas songwriting legends. Loved seeing lots of old friends and having the gang from Big Loud along for the ride.
Joe Ely - What a loss. A true rock star and influence on so many. I remember seeing Joe and the band that included Jessie 'Guitar' Taylor, Lloyd Maines, Davis McClarty, Glenn Fukunaga and Joel Guzman just turn the stage into scorched earth one night in Lubbock. I remember him joining Springsteen onstage too. There will never be another Joe Ely. Who else could do what he did? Tour with The Clash, cut a song like Gallo del Cielo, good luck. I'm so grateful for all the music and my thoughts are with his family and friends. RIP Joe Ely. Thanks for everything.
I won't try and give anyone the impression that I knew Todd well. I know a lot of people who were close with him who are really hurting right now. I'll say that his songs, his music made me really happy and will always be so important to me. He came up and played with us one night and this image made its way to me somehow and I'm so glad that it did. This was his energy when he was up. It was so uplifting when he was on. I'll miss seeing him play live, no one did it quite like him. I'll always be grateful for the songs and the music, rest easy Todd Snider. Thanks for everything you gave us! Viva Satellite!
