another location i wanted to explore during one of my last trips to bangkok was the renowned song wat road. if uve been there recently, ull notice a rise in activity around the pier area. we visited one of the revitalised warehouses and shot while plenty of tourists watched on. sometimes locations get refurbished for different reasons, whether to improve local communities or to boost tourism. and that means the environment can look very different from the last time you saw it. i think we adapted quite well to the changes and still managed to get some great shots!

how do passer-bys affect a fashion editorial on the streets? learning to shoot fashion on location isnt just about the space, its about the people moving through it that gives it its breath. ive always loved to include passing figures, waiting for the right time to see someone walk into the frame. it changes everything because the image stops feeling staged and starts feeling alive. learning from old masters like henri cartier-bresson and the idea of the decisive moment, not forcing the shot, but waiting for life to complete it. sometimes all it takes is one person crossing the right corner at the right time, be it colour, height, textures or even energy.

another place i revisited on my last trip to bangkok, old phahurat building. having spent my fyp days frequenting singapore’s version of a fabric hub, this spot felt especially fascinating with its quiet subculture and evolving lore. shaped by old trade routes, many indian traders clustered here along the chao phraya river, forming a cultural enclave that still lingers in its textures and signages. sad to hear that business has slowed over time, but that is often the way these places change and fade. spooky to think the alleyway might fall silent anytime soon.

out shooting today, looking for colours, reminded me of the last trip to vietnam. colours in temples feel sacred as the rooms fill up with worshippers, especially after visiting one of the most busiest temples in singapore. edits will come soon! we shot this set on one of the lunar calendars busiest day too. the gold catches the morning light, and the rusty greens hold centuries of stories. we shot fast because we didnt want to disturb anyone but somehow the incense drifting in the air slowed down time. grateful to the temple caretakers for letting us explore this beautiful space!
