I’m really enjoying these intimate gatherings of musicians lately. What a treasure to hear a singer songwriter sing their own songs or maybe even out their spin on a cover with a different musician interpretation. This magical evening @cafe1923_hamtramck was procured by @pedromeadowz where he performed alongside @enter_the_confessional@a.k._valormusic@mikeleslieartist (on banjo) and @breilly86 on electric mandolin) and Lana. It was a fun night in a quaint little library living room setting while enjoying my pastry, vanilla latte, and a sharing of music. Thank you for sharing your talents and opening your heart. Please go check out their pages, consider a follow and show them all some love. 🩵🫶🏼🤍. Special honorary mention to @bobross_thejoyofpainting representing in the background. The night wouldn’t have been complete without him watching over the musicians.

RIP Brian Pastoria - I wouldn’t be where I’m at today with Brian’s help. He was the first guy to give me a job at a recording studio back in 2008, I worked at Harmonie Park alongside Brian and Mark until 2012. I was able to quit my job and pursue music full time because of the opportunities they gave me and I’m forever grateful for those times.
We met after I gave his sons private guitar lessons at his house. We got done with the first lesson and he said “you’re pretty good at that thing, what do you do for a living?”. I told him I was currently working at Guitar Center but I wanted to be a Music Producer and Audio Engineer. His eyes lit up (as they always did when he had a big idea) and he said “I own a recording studio Downtown, you should come work for me”, handed me his card and a couple weeks later I was running sessions at Harmonie Park. I was 22 at the time.
Brian was always in a good mood, every time I’d head to work we’d end up chatting for an hour or so about music and the state of the local music scene. He loved the Detroit music scene more than anyone I’ve ever met. Both of us being drummers, that was always a large topic to discuss lol. I always loved playing and recording on his custom red Pearl kit.
He was an idea man and a master of networking. I’m honored to be part of the many great collaboration sessions he put together at Harmonie Park and uDetroit over the years. He introduced me to countless people in the Detroit music community, many who are still dear friends to this day.
He will be deeply missed here in Detroit. My heart goes out to Mark, Sue and his boys.

The pair of vintage u67s over the drum kit sounds so wonderful. So much detail without any brash overtones on the cymbals. The room here compliments drums so well, shoot me a message to book your next session at the Shack. 📸 by Mr Jake @jeykshives
My sister in law made these wonderful @scramble_shack cookies for me. She’s an incredible baker and can make custom cookies for your business or event, follow her page at @autumnmariemcc
My big brother is so cool. He handmade this new Scramble Shack logo for me and surprised me with it on this trip out to California. It’s made with a laser cutter out of multiple types of wood, then hand stained. Can’t wait to hang this in the studio 😁
