What an incredible way to wrap up our final Girls in Construction Tour!
A huge thank you to @breen_construction for co-hosting and welcoming students from across the Queenstown area to Tewa Banks, where they got a real look at BCITO’s 16 different trades in action.
Students also got hands-on experience at Breen’s Trade Base and heard from Emma, a qualified painter and decorator at M R Group, about the doors an apprenticeship with BCITO can open. The message from today? Just give it a go 👷♀️

TradeBase is now live and operational for 2026. We had the great honour of meeting this year's cohort of L3 carpentry program students. These excellent humans from @wakatipuhighschool and @dunstanhighschoolalexandra joined us last Thursday as we officially kicked off proceedings with all important Health and Safety inductions and inspirational talks from Kane Jury ( @highlandersteam ) and our very own MD, Lindsay Breen.
We can't wait to see these kids in action as they learn carpentry hands on. The future of our sector needs industry to support the development of skills. We're delighted to provide the opportunity for these young people to shine.
