What is BRS you ask?? 🌟An evening of inspiration!🌟 We've all attended cold reading series where the writers showcased tell stories that are limiting for women, barely touch on any minority experiences, and see the world through the lens of a cis-white male. And that's not to say that the writing wasn't good. They just left out more than they included, and ESPECIALLY now, we wanted to create a forum for underrepresented voices to be heard. So the BREAKTHROUGH READING SERIES was born! How does the evening work? Each Breakthrough Reading Series evening, 5 writers will be showcased. Actors and actresses in attendance will be cast by the writers on the spot to perform their scripts live for the whole group. Like all grassroots movements, we can't do this without YOU, our friends and co-collaborators. You are the wind beneath our wings, just as we hope to be the springboard for your success.
