At our last Off The Record, Joanne MacDonald’s mixed media artworks ask you to pause, feel and reflect. The sculptures—precarious, poetic, and powerful—were suspended in the glow of the skyline, echoing the layers of the music and the city below.
Joanne creates with raw materials and real heart, blending found objects and natural elements into interactive sculptures that speak to the fragility of connection and the beauty of imperfection. Her work held the space like memory does—soft and sharp all at once.
We’re honoured to have hosted her in our gallery at Brookfield Properties. Thank you, Joanne, for sharing your perspective, your process, and your poetry with us.

Last night I had the pleasure of singing a few songs in front of a sold-out crowd at @breadmkr and it served as a reminder of the great music we have in Alberta. I was totally blown away by @samsavsmith@boots.graham and @morganklaibermusic Woke up grateful to be a small part of it.
Last time we gathered we laughed, we cried (in a good way), and we sang our hearts out. And we’re doing it all again—just one week away! 🎤✨
