Taking a walk through Adventdalen was a revealing experience. We gained insights into the challenges faced by Svalbard residents, from the era of trappers and coal mining to today’s lifestyle that combines research, science, and tourism. It also helped us appreciate life so far north during winter, especially the loneliness. 🫥
In the evening, we enjoyed a three-course meal at the Restaurant Nansen — a real treat and thoroughly enjoyable!

Dog sledding in the polar night was surreal. Surrounded by complete darkness, we couldn’t see the scenery, but the huskies’ excitement was clear as they pulled us through the wild. 😄 After the ride, we warmed up in a cozy cabin (phewww, it was freezing!!), and spent some time cuddling a puppy.🥰
We later spent the evening at Camp Barentz, located just outside the town. It was such a meaningful experience learning about Svalbard’s discoverer- Willem Barentsz, and the Northern Lights. The night was made even better with a hearty dinner and hot coffee!

Our Svalbard adventure was a lifetime opportunity and we’re thrilled to share our experience. It marked our first visit to the far northernmost inhabited area.
Located in the Arctic Ocean, Svalbard is a remote Norwegian archipelago midway between mainland Norway and the North Pole. It’s a Norwegian territory in the High Arctic and home to polar bears, Svalbard reindeer and Arctic foxes. Spot the animal in the video! 🦌

Bristol’s relaxed atmosphere and neighborhoods made it a special experience. We embraced slow travel- peeking at every nook, strolling through the streets, savouring local cafés, shopped like a local at the grocers and charity, soaking in every bit of it as we explore.
Truly moments worth living rent free in our heads for quite some time! 😌
Last post about Seoul- it was an incredible experience exploring the culture, palace, market, cuisine, and skincare. We hope to discover another side of Korea in the future. :)
After two years of constantly chasing assignment submissions, we finally had the chance to truly be present with each other during this long vacation- no deadlines, no rushing. I’m so deeply grateful to God for these trips that let us slow down, breathe, and soak in every moment together.
Looking back, it still amazes me that I said yes to pursuing a Master’s; all I could do was trust God with His plans for us. Thank you for walking through it all with me and for keeping me sane every step of the way. 🖤

Your experiences at Sony Kando, where each of you intentionally step outside your comfort zones and challenged yourself to do things differently, reminded me the importance to constantly have a mindset for growth, exploration, and adaptation. It’s so easy to stick with what we already know, but seeing you guys experiment with new tools, or existing functions in a fresh way was a breath of fresh air. It reminded the importance of intentionally carving out opportunities to experiment, innovate with the tools we have, and the humility to learn from one another.
Missed out quite a bit from the Alpha Experience weekend, but I’m glad I got to show up for this. Looking forward to more moments like this and to growing with this community of makers and storytellers. ✨

This is #MYBestShotwithSonyLens because it captures more than just a cityscape. As the light shifted from golden hour into blue hour, it painted the streets in both warm and cool hues, with both perspectives in view.
The weather wasn’t ideal on that day, with a layer of fog hovering over the city, and the glow of the sun reflecting, I knew it won’t be easy to capture the city in great detail, especially with the light quickly fading too. Banking on the Sony 50mm 1.2 G Master’s rendering, I managed to cut through it effortlessly. Every rooftop, every street, every detail were captured with immaculate clarity, considering the distance.
This perfectly encapsulates the whole week’s worth of experience in Seoul — the subzero temperatures accompanied by soul-warming food, the vastness of the landscape, the spaces and faces of new and old.

We've never been more distant for the past year. Being married during COVID, almost everything we do has been either with, or next to each other.
With new season comes new challenges and struggles, and having both needing to grind our way through life on our own, responsibilities and demands has been a tad weird. Though we know, this is but a temporary strive for a better future.
A bit somber but such is life. Marriage is not just all fun and happy, it too comes with the unglam. It's all in how we make things work, and trust the process. And I'm glad to do it all with you.
