@brazenracing trailquake was a beast ! I hadn't run it in 3 years so it did not disappoint. A couple of wrong turns added to the miles but that's what the experience is all about. The inclines are always a challenge but the views from the peak never disappoint!
I was late to start again but I managed to pass quite a few to end in a solidly almost last position 😉🤣. I was alone on a good portion of the trail and the quiet with forest noises is the best. When the fog burned off, it got quite warm, but being under the forest canopy for most of the run kept me comfy!
Awesome to see @quilted_runner and @juliarunstheultraworld on the course especially after they ran the Yosemite #halfmarathon on Saturday! True grit!!

Mother’s Day is coming up fast. And that means Trailquake 2026 is too! Anyone who is a mother, has a mother (or even is just known as a “tough mother”) is welcome! 5K, 10K and half marathon on the trails of Saratoga! /trailquake/
Badger Cove races at Lake Del Valle (in Livermore) coming up on Saturday 4/18/26.
5K is nice, mostly all flat running. 10K has a hill and the half has a few hills. But you won't even notice any hills because you'll be distracted by the lush, green beauty of the hills and the sparkling grandeur of the lake!

Last weekend, Harrison and I ran the @brazenracing Victory Half Marathon, a beautiful course overlooking the San Francisco Bay. This race was extra special because it marked Harrison’s first official half marathon distance race at 13.1 miles.
At just 9 years old, he crossed the finish line in 2:16. Watching him push through the miles, stay focused, and keep believing in himself was incredibly inspiring. The training, effort, and determination he put in to reach this moment truly paid off. This is just the beginning of his journey. Harrison hopes to inspire others to give their best, no matter their age.
A huge thank you to Brazen Racing for supporting youth in the running community, as well as all the incredible volunteers/photographers and the @payitforwardpaceteam who make these races so special.
Special shoutout to pacers Xinyu (2:00), @kwaiii8 (2:10), and @Renee_rs (2:20) for running alongside Harrison and helping him stay on pace for his goal 🎯.
And of course, it was wonderful seeing so many friends from the running community out on the course. Moments like these remind us why we run. 🏃♂️✨🌉

Victory is ours this Saturday! This half marathon 10K and 5K gives everyone flat running next to the the bay with views for days.
Bonus for 2026: a rain-free forecast calling for low 60s during the race.
Starts and finishes next to the Ford Assembly Plant (next door to the Rosie the Riveter Museum). All participants also get access to the @columbia1938 Sportswear Company Employee Store.
