Ayo Adenekan: Homeland Insecurity 🤠
Ayo is back following his entirely sold out, award winning debut, having been the first ever comedian supported by globally renowned Red Bull. BBC New Comedy finalist, writer on SNL UK, joint winner of the ISH Edinburgh Awards Best Newcomer 2025, Ayo is driiiiipping with accolades and his second hour is going to be full of even more big laughs.
Another one to book immediately, as in RIGHT NOW! What are you waiting for?!!?
Let's roooooast!
Last week, we headed to Roast Battle at @monkey.barrel.comedy , which is always a highlight. BTC gal @itsevaperoni was hosting AND roasting! During a fantastic Roast Battle with the wonderful Jack Brookmyre, Eva got a can of @redbulluk out and smugly drank it while talking about funded fringes. A joke basically for me and like 3 other people in the crowd. Adored it.
Highly recommend you get along to the next @roastbattlescotland !
Glasgow, you’re in luck. Cause look at so many of our Fringe roster doing cheap gigs at @gaelandgrain with the @goodeggcom preview season.

Amy Annette: Say What You Like About Me 👑
Now in Amy's third year of solo shows at the Fringe, this is shaping up to be her best yet. A show about being hot (or not). It's been a pleasure to work with Amy on two sold out Fringe runs so far with Thick Skin and Busy Body. Last year her SOLD OUT show was named one of the top 50 best reviewed shows at the Fringe!
You'll need to book early on this one 👀
Team trip to SNLUK 💕🥰😭
This weekend myself and @colettebaptie had a trip to London for the taping of SNLUK and it was phenomenal.
A mere year ago, we were a couple months in to working with the most wonderful and funny boy @ayo_adenekan . He was barely ever responding to our messages but we were stating to get used to it and it was fine because he’s so funny.
A year later we’re at the SNL after party (and cried when we saw him like your two aunties at your birthday party).
So wildly proud and watching SNL live in the room was such a cool experience. Proper impressive stuff. The writers and the cast of course have blown me away every week but to see the sheer quantity of people involved in building every set holding cue cards and lighting and doing hair and make up and costumes seconds before sketches start and a billion other jobs to make it all happen was mental. Wildly impressive
Your upcoming week of comedy!
There’s hunners on every single week, so this is by no means an exhaustive list, but here’s our top picks of what to do this week if you’re Scotland based.
📍EDINBURGH
Mon 11 May: Sara Pascoe: Jazz (Work in Progress). Sara’s dad has made an 18 CD Jazz interpretation of James Joyce’s Ulysses, and she would like to make some jokes about that. But first, she must go on her own long journey, and listen to it. Monkey Barrel. 7:30pm. £10 tickets.
Fri 15 May: Sara Barron: Slop (Work in Progress). Sara has planned a series of high kicks, insults for your average-looking granny, and thoughts on Jeffrey Dahmer's Netflix special. Then - separate but adjacent - some thoughts on Gary Barlow. Monkey Barrel. 8pm. £7 tickets.
Sun 17 May: MC Hammersmith and Friends.Multi-award winning freestyle rap comedian MC Hammersmith presents an evening of improvised comedy raps based entirely on your suggestions. And he will also be joined by his friends. Monkey Barrel. 7:30pm. £9 tickets.
