Pima County Board of Supervisors will vote Tuesday to sell 290 acres of desert to be developed into 8 to 10 data centers. The companies purchasing and developing the land were kept under wraps until last week due to NDAs. And we still don’t know who the company using the data center would be! Beale Infrastructure is the developer—their parent company Blue Owl Capital funds the building of huge data centers across the country, including one in Abilene, Texas whose end user will be OpenAI/ChatGPT.
The data center could use 1-5 million gallons of water a day (‼️) for its 2.25 million sq ft facility. Beale plans to use reclaimed water for much of its operation, but they would have to build an 18 MILE LONG PIPELINE to pump the water to its facility from the northwest side. The facility would also become one of TEP’s biggest electricity users, and there are no specifics on how existing ratepayers will be protected from rate increases.
The county should not approve this project without any specific info on its water and electricity use just for its purported economic benefits. If you want to make your voice heard, call or message the county supervisors (QR code in the post), and

In March 2023 we tracked the instrumentals at Wiggle World over 7 days, then returned in March 2024 to track vocals in 2 days. A flurry of remote mixing sessions, demo collaging, album art brain degradation, and deft mastering brought it all to life. In total, thousands of hours are in this record, more money than we'd care to disclose, and unquantifiable emotional labor -- and we'd do it all again. Listen to your constructive responsibility, take every chance you get to create something beautiful with your loved ones and you won't regret it.
