AFLOAT—a series from my project, “Between Shore and Sky”
Archival pigment print on silk paper, (2) 40x60cm, (1) 60x90cm
April 2025
To float is to trust. These portraits are a meditation of navigating life transitions and embracing uncertainty. In the space between letting go and finding clarity, the body becomes both question and answer. More details linked in my bio.
Clockwise BTS (last slide): checking out custom frame options at a local factory, preparing the shot before I jumped into the lake lol, installing the frames for the exhibit, printing my photos at the local shop. Thank you to all my friends at @acentricspace for helping me make this happen!
First photo book and solo show, Traces of Memory, 2025 ✅✅
When I started this project, I had no idea how many people it would touch. So it meant so much to share it in a room full of friends, old and new 🙏🏻
A special thanks to @pileofmush@anniejcai@beer_with_nate@hahhowie@mattminwoolee@ptiutan for helping me setup everything (literally impossible without y’all), @flowingspace_gallery for having me, and everyone who pre-ordered early, from LES to the bay to Melbourne.
I still have some copies left so if you know someone else who might love one, check out the order link in my bio 🔗
Til next time,

Chongqing, May Day 2025
This is what 18.58 million tourists in one place looks and sounds like. That’s more than 2x the total population of NYC, just in visitors.
Caught in the crowds, I wanted to document mass tourism—the absurd, the ironic, and the ugly—at a scale unlike anywhere else.
Unfiltered video postcards on May 1st in Chongqing for International Labor Day.
What’s the craziest travel experience you’ve had?
Six months ago, I left my job in tech.
After five years as a product manager, I finally took a leap I’d been putting off—pursuing photography and creative work full-time.
Since then, I’ve shown work in NYC and Shanghai, experimented with new types of projects, and explored fresh perspectives on my career.
It’s been messy and uncertain—but worth it.
If you’re building something of your own, follow along. I’ll be sharing more BTS, stories, and lessons!
South of the Clouds, May 2025
Hues of Erhai (洱海) and Earth. In Dali, color isn’t just seen—it’s felt. From the fields to the shores of Erhai, I collected quiet traces of color—lanterns glowing like little suns, wisterias swaying in the breeze, and the warmth of handmade wood and clay. As dusk washes each into pastel, I slow down and notice, letting this place—south of the clouds—color me.
What’s a place you love and what colors stay with you from there?
Little Electric Mules (小电驴), May 2025
I took these photos within the span of an hour in Chengdu, after missing by bus one night and deciding to walk home instead. In China, 小电驴 (little electric mules) is slang for e-scooters, which are core to both urban and rural life there.
As tuk tuks, e-bikes, and scooters zipped past, I started to notice and wonder about the riders—how the couple may have met, where the trio carpooling might be headed, and how that man rigged a trunk to his scooter. They came and went in an instant but maybe these quarter-second stills offer a glimpse of their stories.
