Gruesome Playground Injuries… I’m going to miss you dearly.
Firstly, to my collaborator and partner on and off the stage: This has been one of the most profoundly fulfilling experiences that I’ve gotten to share with another human being. Getting to work with the you, Kyra Leroux, day in and day out was such a gift that I can’t even put it in to words. You simply blow me away, lady. We both know it was also an incredible challenge to do this, however, that challenge strengthened us immensely and proved that we can do anything we put ourselves fully into. It’s no easy task putting together an entire freaking play, but we did it! I’m so proud of you and I love you so much!
Secondly, I want to say thank you to everyone that supported us. Tiana and Morgan came in clutch, doing all the music and lighting for the shows, which turned out amazingly! Turns out Spencer, our host, can write a half decent speech :)
My family, whom I owe a lot to for supporting me and really letting me lean on them when they were absolutely needed. It’s no easy task having to see your son/brother work 8 hour days then come home and rehearse. Lastly, to everyone that came out to watch… Thank you so freaking much! From the bottom of my heart, it truly meant so much to me. Your laughs, gasps, and tears, truly moved me and inspired me to push forward and trust that I am in exactly the write place.
To Dougie, Fuck… I’m going to miss you so much man. I’ve learned so much about myself through you. You’re the fearless kid that I always wanted to be. You say what you feel and you lead with your freaking heart which is something that I aspire to do every single day. Saying “I love you” and expressing our true honest feelings is a great strength that not all of us have, so thank you for your un apologetic courage. You’ve been teaching me the power of my voice and I am so much more of myself because of you.
