I’ll never forget that first time going in the art store (after I made the decision to try my hand at painting) - Jerry’s Artarama in Miami!!!! 😂 I didn’t know where to start, but I knew the journey HAD TO BEGIN THAT DAY!!! No matter how lost I was rummaging the aisles for “supplies” to get my ideas out. Fast forward to present day…. The confidence I have with new materials, any materials? Uncanny!! I fought to be decent, atleast. I studied and researched every artist I could, watched every tutorial I could, read anything informative, bugged collectors, drove to galleries COLD WITH ARTWORK STRAPPED TO THE TOP OF THE CAR seeking representation- CUZ THEY WAS GON “LISTEN TO MY DEMO!!!” I brought that energy from the music industry! It was then I truly learned to be a STUDENT OF THE GAME!!!!! I was seeking reinvention but had NO IDEA I was also seeking refinement. ONLY GOD KNEW where that would come from. I wanted to be GOOD… but NOW I want to be GREAT!!!
Yeah, my new shipment of paint triggered all that. I’m just grateful for perseverance and the never ending curiosity to explore, PLAY and PUSH FORWARD with NEW IDEAS, and NEW WAYS to express!!! Peace.
