I still get butterflies 🦋
BUTTERFLIES. New song, now streaming!
Here’s to love that grows older and weirder - to picking out paint colors, plucking out grey hairs, and to a lifetime of answering questions like “would you still love me if I was a worm?” - and to being grateful that it isn’t any other way.
Couldn’t have made this song without these lovely and talented people:

Life looks a little different these days. Less sleeping in the back of a van, and more sleepless nights at home with our littlest band-mates.
It’s been so special to release a song that feels so deeply personal to our story, and to hear that it has struck a nostalgic chord for others too.
It’s been a very sentimental season - reminiscing with some of our peers in bands, with friends whose band just broke up, with friends who want to get the old band back together…One of my friends said “I’m not even in a band, but this song made me sentimental for something I’ve never even experienced”. I love music for so many reasons - but the power of a song to make you feel at home in someone else’s diary entry is pure magic.
I hope wherever you are today, you find time to find yourself in a good song. And if you don’t know where to start, I have a recommendation for you…🍷
ps. new song coming Fridayyyyyy 🦋
Boxed Wine, our new single, is out now 🍷

This is a love song to Us.
We’ve been making music together for a long time, and we’ve been friends for even longer. It feels like we were kids when we all met, and we’ve watched each other grow up - fall in love, get married, have babies, take risks, try, fail, try again - all of it.
And as band-mates, we have experienced just about every creative high and low that you can as artists. We’ve lived a lot of life together - and I wouldn’t change a thing.

Lots of stories and memories and thanks to come in the following days, but for now, a special thanks to some of our friends who helped this one come to life. And a thanks to you all. Thank you for singing along with us after all this time.

All our thanks and love to 🍷

Surprise! Came out of hibernation to release an original Christmas song for you 🤍 We hope you love it as much as we do and look forward to more music making in the new year!
Tyler and Jacob have a new song out today via @farfriendsmusic 🦋
One of our first loves as a band was putting our own spin on other people’s songs. Though I’m sure we’ll still release the occasional Branches cover (because we can’t help ourselves), Far Friends will be a place where we can indulge all of our guilty-pleasure cover-band daydreams and not have to ask ourselves if it’s gonna mess with the Branches algorithm to release a banjo cover of Blink-182 one month and an accapella Linkin Park arrangement the next (mostly serious about both of these)
If you’re into the cover song thing, give Far Friends a follow - and either way, check out our first release (“Float On”, Modest Mouse) by clicking the link in the Far Friends or Tsutro bios.
The new tune train keeps rolling đźš‚
Jacob dropped a dreamy banger today with @tsutromusic , and it sounds as vibey as this photo looks.

We miss release parties and van tours. We miss overcrowded venues and after-show burritos. We miss hearing you sing back to us the words that we wrestled with for the months and years before getting them to you and finding out that you feel the same things we do. We miss each other. We miss you.
Our new song isn't really about any of that - it's kind of about the opposite of “missing”. It’s about what happens after the missing, when you don’t have to miss someone anymore. This is a song about wanting someone, and then getting what you want, forever.
It feels strange to release such a “together” song while we’re apart - but maybe that’ll just have to be part of the story - until the day we can be together and all of our “remember when”s aren’t about how we used to be able to be together, but rather, about how we used to be apart.
However it hits for you - we hope this second installment of “Branches presents a new single during a global pandemic” feels like a hug for you❤️
You Still Haunt Me. Available everywhere đź‘»
