We are now accepting applications for Braid Fund SN3! Click the link in the @braidfund ig account bio to reach the webpage for more information, including the link to the online application portal. As with the previous seasons, we will be offering small grants of up to 750K ksh (~5K usd) for innovative art/culture projects of 6 months long in Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda.  We give priority to: early career practitioners, rural practitioners, women and gender nonconforming peoples, community-based projects, people living with disabilities and practitioners from disciplines or spaces usually not represented in large-scale art/culture programs.  As this year we are part of the UK/Kenya season, there will also be a prioritization of Kenyan projects.  All funded projects much be complete by Jan/Feb 2026.  @eastafricaarts @ticah.ke #braidfund, #culturegrows, #culturalheritage, #eastafrica, #culture, #arts, #tradition, #ticah, #britishcouncil

Hi! Karibu "From Shamba to Sahani", a culinary project by @sensory_swahili We are excited to be part of this season's BRAID Arts & Culture Fund. Through this generous fund, our curator, @rhoda_henry has been working on a cookbook that showcases Tanzanian food culture as explored through new technologies. This will be a special cookbook that exists in space and time. Each chapter will have texts, sounds, and simple kitchens. The participants will be able to engage in reading the book by scanning the QR codes, through Augmented Reality and short cooking challenges. Join us as we explore this immersive culinary journey!
