If this is what a volunteer does to prep - what should someone do who is paid? đ¤
Number 1- same call times for all crew.
Number 2 - cameras need rehearsal too. Every week.
Number 3 - actually go through your camera movement, focus pulls and frames that youâll do live
Number 4 - the best operators who put the most hours in - if youâre not shooting every week - youâre getting worse everyday.
Be like James - tape a glove on a stick to hone your craft.
Hereâs our run from front of house to broadcast this weekend. Weâre sending a band group, a vocal group and a crowd group via con sends to broadcast console doing all processing on the broadcast console level, mastering those stems for broadcast. All @wavesaudio processing.

Itâs totally fine to try to scramble for things, and itâs totally fine to stress some people out around you, as long as you actually make it through to the next thing that you need to do. Be distracted, help other people, even if it stresses them out, as long as youâre taking care of your thing too.
Production is mostly about priority decision-making, knowing what to care about and what not to care about, and not getting bothered by the endless amounts of small things.
Though - we all know somebody who doesnât make good priority decisions, cares about everything that doesnât matter, and happens to get bothered by all the small things. đŤ
Mixing well starts with knowing the song.
You need to understand its dynamicsâwhatâs coming, when itâs coming, and the sonic space it lives in. That awareness keeps your eyes and hands moving, making constant, subtle adjustments throughout.
Itâs normal to be riding faders a few dB all song longâsmall moves that shape the moment youâre in. When the band drops out, bring the keys forward. When the verse opens up, let the snare feel a bit better. If the bass is about to make a run, give it room it needs to push the tag - whatever it is.. make it dynamic.
All those intentional, layered decisions are what make a mix feel human, alive and dynamic. Music is emotional - so follow the emotion of the track.
This is how our ancestors used tripods.
â
used a dinner plate as a tripod.
weâre doing real production things out here.
who needs plates when youâve got fine china

if it works it works. donât ask questions.
Was not prepared for this Easter Mash.
Hundreds of baptisms. Great crew. So much to be thankful for
Shoutout to @gsexton89 for this arrangement. It hit⌠everyone.
Always be emotionally connected to your work. Always. Hudson was cam opâing a baptism celebration service when all the sudden two of his family members walked into the baptistery. Front row view of life change that hits so close to home. God is good - so grateful for this weekend and for this team. â¤ď¸
Church â Easter is not the Super Bowl.
Not entertainment. Not a spectacle. Not commercialization.
It is the announcement of a kingdom that stands over every nation, every family, every system weâve ever built. It is God looking at a broken world and saying â no longer.
This is the truest story there is.
Itâs where everything begins.
Itâs where everything is going.
Donât settle for the worldâs goals, metrics, or standards. Fix your eyes on heaven.
Tune your ear to the Lordâs whisper.
Let your mind be made new.
Holy. Sacred.
It demands everything.
