BRAC University is proud to announce its first partnership at the doctoral level with a university abroad, the SOAS University of London! This joint PhD program in the political economy of development aims to shape the next generation of global development leaders.
Tamara Hasan Abed, Chairperson of BRAC University’s Board of Trustees, and Professor Adam Habib, SOAS Vice-Chancellor, signed an agreement in this regard at the SOAS in London on 16 June 2025.
Abida Islam, High Commissioner of Bangladesh to the UK, was present while Sarah Cooke, British High Commissioner to Bangladesh, Professor Syed Muhammed Abul Faiz, Chairman of the University Grants Commission (UGC) Bangladesh, and Professor Syed Ferhat Anwar, Vice-Chancellor of BRAC University, joined the ceremony virtually from Dhaka.
