The most perfect San Francisco Wedding 🍾
There were so many beautiful moments throughout @lilylogan11 + @bquin23 day that I couldn’t possibly fit it all into one little feed post
But something I wanted to share was what their officiant and good friend Judge Hannah Blumenstiel said during their ceremony
My brides met Judge Hannah on a cruise a few years back and immediately became friends. So when they asked her to officiant their wedding, it was a huge honor
During their ceremony on San Francisco City Hall’s gorgeous Rotunda, Judge Hannah gave a brief history about gay marriage
She spoke about her time as a judge and when Proposition 8 passed in 2008 (amending the state constitution to ban gay marriage - again), she vowed she would not marry another couple until ALL couples could get married
In 2010, a federal court ruled Proposition 8 unconstitutional. In 2013, the U.S. Supreme Court reinstated same-sex marriage in California and in 2015 the Supreme Court legalized same-sex marriage nationwide
Which brings us to July 13, 2024 where we all gathered with so much love and excitement to watch Judge Hannah joyously marry Lily + Bailey
Their love is electric
It could be felt throughout every inch of the magnificent San Francisco City Hall and can still be felt through each image in their gallery

Here’s what to explain to your families…
When they hear “Family Portraits,” parents often go crazy coming up with a whole list of their own that THEY want that the couple might not necessarily prioritize
We, your photogs, know that you love everyone you’ve invited to your wedding and you want a picture with everyone (duh). And we want to capture that for you!
But the designated “Family Portrait” time is for the most important people in your lives, which is usually immediate family (parents, siblings, grandparents, chosen family) and these are the more structured “smile and look at the camera” shots
Tbh this can be a very rough, boring, looong part of the day
These take time to setup. We have to remind everyone to take everything out of their pockets, remove sunglasses, fix ties/boutonnieres/hair/jackets/etc, pose them in the right way because nobody ever listens to any of the directions when they’re not in front of the camera, catch any hair ties on wrists, track people down who went to grab a drink and bite from Cocktail Hour or go use the bathroom…😑 so it’s like herding a bunch of drunk cats that we have to constantly repeat instructions to
So what’s the remedy for this?
Capping your formal Family Portraits list and creating a separate list of shots you want for Cocktail Hour or Reception!
This increases the experience for ALL!
Instead of making everyone sit and wait for their one photo, this allows family and guests to go and enjoy Cocktail Hour
They can grab a drink, enjoy some small bites, chat with friends, use the bathroom…and it won’t feel like they’re waiting for forever to get a picture with you!
Plus it helps keep your smile from going 😁 to 😬 lol
This allows YOU to enjoy more of your Cocktail Hour / Reception in a more natural way getting to spend quality time dancing and having fun with your guests instead of posted up in one spot just for “one photo” with each group

Lily, I can’t tell you enough of how proud I am of you for graduating from law school! You have worked so hard from the very beginning; studying for and taking the LSAT, choosing which school to go to, your first day on zoom with your associate @makos.adventure , preparing for your first day representing a client in court to now, walking across the stage getting your diploma. You are going to make an excellent lawyer and I can’t wait to see how you change the world! I love you to the moon and back!
