As we near the end of the school year, our campuses are busier than ever with promotions, performances, celebrations, and end-of-year events. Let’s work together to help keep our students, families, staff, and neighbors safe during this exciting season! 🎓
Please remember to:
✔️ Slow down in school zones
✔️ Stop for crossing guards and yield to pedestrians
✔️ Use designated drop-off and pick-up areas responsibly
✔️ Avoid distracted driving, U-turns, and blocking intersections or crosswalks
✔️ Be patient and respectful toward staff helping manage traffic flow

The Mark Daniel Flores Music Foundation was established in honor of Mark Daniel Flores, a former Tracy Elementary behavior specialist, Sierra Vista High School jazz band member, and passionate musician whose love for music continues to inspire and support young artists in our community. 👏
This annual scholarship recognizes talented college-bound musicians and helps continue Mark’s legacy of spreading joy through music. 💙

📚🏆 BPUSD readers showed up BIG for the Jackie Robinson Reading Challenge!
Created by Board Member Mr. John B. de Leon, the challenge encouraged students across the District to strengthen literacy through reading “42” Million words school-wide. Inspired by the iconic baseball player’s numbed, the results were incredible. 👏
Together, participating schools read MILLIONS of words, with many campuses significantly increasing their totals from last year. As part of the challenge, Mr. de Leon generously gifted participating schools donations ranging from $200 to $1,000 in recognition of their reading achievements and commitment to literacy. ❤️📖

What’s Good?! BSPN & Tribe Talk Students have created this for Mental Health Awareness Week. It’s always a good time to show gratitude and appreciate the good things in life.
Today, Sierra Vista High and Tracy Elementary celebrated the culmination of their 3rd Big Brothers Big Sisters cohort! 🫶
Since October 2025, 20 SVHS student mentors were paired with 20 Tracy fourth- and fifth-grade students for weekly activities, goal-setting, check-ins, and meaningful connection. 👏
The culminating celebration included leadership speeches, a pizza party, and heartfelt goodbyes as students reflected on the friendships and memories built throughout the year. 💙
This impactful partnership continues to connect generations of Baldwin Park Unified students through mentorship and leadership. 👏

🚨 New E-Bike & E-Scooter Safety Guidelines
With the rise in e-bike and e-scooter use, Baldwin Park Unified is sharing important safety guidelines aligned with new California laws.
⚠️ Most middle and elementary schools already restrict these devices on campus, and beginning Fall 2026, all will enforce a full ban for student safety.
High school students must follow all safety guidelines outlined in this guide.
Accidents involving these devices are increasing—help us keep our students safe by reviewing the guidelines, required safety equipment, and expectations.
