I voted early for @zohrankmamdani because I believe he’ll be the best mayor for #nyc. I first got to know him in 2011 when I was teaching film courses with his mom in Uganda. He was a force of nature as a teenager and it’s been a thrill to watch him now thrive as a public servant. I can attest that he’s always been kind-hearted, civic-minded and will be dedicated to all New Yorkers. It’s time for a positive change in NYC and Zohran will bring it! Give him your vote today.
It's not every day that an Oscar-winning director/producer comes to class — but @BPerlmutt ’s documentary filmmaking course got to experience just that when Elizabeth @ChaiVasarhelyi '00 stopped by. 🎬
Amidst the release of her latest project @NyadMovie , Elizabeth spoke with the @princetonarts class about her movie making process, and also screened the new film at @princetongarden .
"Nyad" tells the story of @diananyad who takes on the "Mount Everest" of swims — the 110-mile trek from Cuba to Florida. The movie is Elizabeth's first narrative feature. @freesolofilm , co-produced by Jimmy Chin, earned Elizabeth a Best Documentary Feature at @theoscars in 2019.

RIP Joan Jara, aged 96. A human rights defender, dancer, loving mother, and devoted wife who spent over fifty years fighting for justice for her husband #victorjara and other victims of the 1973 coup in Chile. Thank you for everything!
Step by step, justice for Chilean musician #victorjara is being served! Lt. Pedro Pablo Barrientos was just arrested by ICE in Florida after recently having his US citizenship stripped. ICE agent John Condon claims, "Barrientos will now have to answer the charges he’s faced with in Chile for his involvement in torture and extrajudicial killing of Chilean citizens." See the #nytimes article link in my bio and check out my #netflix documentary "Massacre at the Stadium" if you'd like to learn more about this incredible 50-year pursuit of justice for Victor Jara! #victorjaravive #justiciaporvictorjara, #massacreatthestadium, @fundacionvictorjara
