So happy to share that Takedown, a documentary that I directed, will be having its world premiere this Thursday, Aug. 6th at the amazing Rhode Island International Film Festival! More details to follow! But we are so excited to finally share this film with an audience. RIIFF is one of only 6 festivals worldwide that is Academy Award, BAFTA and Canadian Screen Award qualifying so we couldn’t be more honored by the selection. Closeups (1 of 3) in Emerald Portal’s ‘Failing Light.’ . . @emeraldportal are wonderful storytellers. They create songs which stir the soul and illicit powerful emotions. As such, the narrative for the ‘Failing Light’ music video came easily. Thank you to Thomas and Brad for trusting me in this collaboration. The above shot features the amazingly talented Rachel Rosenbloom, whose performance truly makes the video. Her ability to oscillate between strength and vulnerability is so captivating. The choreography, which she constructed within a moments notice, was brilliant and emotional. It’s really special when you are so wrapped up in someone’s performance that you forgot to call cut, and there were quite a few instances of that on this set :) . . Link to ‘Failing Light’ in my bio.
