This piece was designed around the client’s own timepieces including a Patek Philippe Calatrava Pilot Travel Time and a Breguet Souscription 250th Anniversary one-hand watch. Each carefully hand-painted onto a Swaine watch box in pebble calf leather.
The natural grain of the pebble calf adds depth to the painted surface, echoing the texture and patina of buon fresco walls.
The composition draws from Michelangelo’s Creation of Adam exploring the space between two hands. A quiet moment of connection suspended in time.
Seeing the watches placed against their painted counterparts was a moment in itself.
Each element is painted entirely by hand.
