Wow - What a whirlwind 10th anniversary! Still reeling from all the excitement, still buzzing from all the beautiful moments, still overcome with gratitude for all of our guests, makers, crew, @recordbar staff, business partners/sponsors and you! Kansas City, you continue showing up in your finest Bowie-esque regalia and helping us foster a safe, joyful space that’s inclusive to all, just as Bowie’s music has felt for many of us.

SURPRISE GUEST ANNOUNCEMENT: We are over the moon that the one and only Krystle Warren will be joining us tonight! One of the most powerful voices to emerge from KC, Krystle flew in from Paris to do a couple songs with us. We’ve been trying to make this happen for a few years, so we’re extra delighted it’s happening on our 10th anniversary!

Looking forward to introducing many of you to our Saturday guest vocalist, Karalyne Winegarner! Karalyne is the frontwoman for @flightattendant_band , delivering power-pop hooks over punk rock performances. Their latest album and title track, “Under The Powerlines,” is about her growing up in Kansas City.
Tix remaining for Saturday are about as low as the forecasted temps, and it’ll be nice and toasty in @recordbar if you help us sell it out. Join us!
The weather’s looking hairy for the weekend, but our talent pool of guests will make it hard to stay at home. Friday night we have the vocal stylings of classic country singer, songwriter & DJ Lorna Kay, bassist extraordinaire Jeff Harshbarger and Heidi Phillips of @frogpondkc , plus the one and only Ernie Locke jumping in for harmonica on a tune!

Saturday guest announcement: Camry Ivory! You may recognize Camry as one of our former backing vocalists; we’re so happy for her return! A pianist, singer-songwriter and dancer/singer for Talking Heads tribute @foundajobkc , Camry also has an incredible solo project called @coloratura.art , which blends electronic music and visual art together to create synesthetic soundscapes.
