Coming up next month! Homespun: Paintings by Joseph Noderer and Alexandra Lakin. Opening reception Saturday, June 6th 6-8pm. The exhibition will be on view through Saturday, July 11th.
Priced and ready for the shelves with about 7 more boxes of stuff just like these to get through. And then there’s also the art books that just came in. We’re overflowing with inventory here so come by this weekend!
Slow down with the languorous, hypnotic rhythms of Tsai Ming-lang (Goodbye, Dragon Inn; Stray Dogs).
Windup Cinema is back at Bottom Feeder Books on May 15 with Tsai’s second feature and first international breakout, Vive l’amour. A realtor, her lover, and a funeral salesman who stumbles on one of her vacant units for-sale populate the film and this apartment with near-misses, ambient longing, and more hijinks than usual for its director. Several of Tsai’s hallmarks (alienation in modern Taipei, melons, long takes that reorient your relationship with attention) are present, along with three frequent collaborators, including his muse and real-life roommate, Lee Kang-sheng.
