Join us on Sunday April 19 from 2-5pm at The Space in Columbia City (3820 S Ferdinand St #102) for an afternoon of performance tattooing and durational performance— the latter curated by BLOODSUGAR— all set against the backdrop of the group show Marking the Void. Iyan G, Syl Helgager, Emma Kates-Shaw, Naia Shedd and Sammy Sueoka present performance tattooing- a departure from each artist’s usual tattoooing fare, Naia is tattooing a 5 frame animation, while Iyan Syl Emma and Sammy will be making four collaborative pieces on four individual clients. Working with the motifs of flower, leaf, branch/stem and bud, each artist will tattoo one element at a time with clients rotating after each element, resulting in four unique compositions never to be repeated!
BLOODSUGAR presents Aaron Michael Butler, Emily Jo, Eric M Acosta, Giordana Falzone, & sullivan in a mesmerizing, durational piece. here, four movement artists & one sonic artist work around the themes present in the show: vulnerability, impermanence, trust and collaboration. BLOODSUGAR is an event series that showcases multidisciplinary artists while prioritizing quality and accessibility. Focused on showcasing different artistic mediums simultaneously, BLOODSUGAR events aim to create experiences only attainable when you allow multiple genres to build on & support each other. If you are interested in being one of four clients to get collaboratively tattooed, enter the raffle for participants by venmoing $15 per ticket to @ thornpokes on venmo!! winner chosen day of the event!
