When we were approached about participating in
@bostonbitdown we were asked to have this opportunity be a way to showcase what we are capable of.
And ld like to think as DIY+ group we exceeded expectations.
Our Lighting Designer
@sharkb.itch used Lekos to provide a stage wash and back light using our par cans programmed though DMX.
Both
@sharkb.itch themself and there counterpart
@robinsielicki operated thought the night to create looks on the fly for each performer.
The CRT Tv Array pieced together by
@smokeitandweep that mirrored the projected display...BUT also had autonomous looping content placed on other tv stacks around the space.
The 10 foot by 20 foot stage piece did in fact take 6 months for me to make.
I used the
@fabville_ to cut pieces for my designed and hand cut the back plates.
However, in my poor planning I did not properly segment pieces and I was able to use
@firststreetmkt to lay out all of my pieces to form a massive puzzle.
Thank fuck for
@itszacrea , I would have never been able to piece the thing together without his help.
Thought the process
@mr.riendeau.help and
@sharkb.itch were a huge resource to help trouble shoot and work though early concepts of how the piece would hang and go up in the space. With my own batshit ideas it seemed to work exactly how we all planned it.
There were certainly a lot of learning that went into the process of making this come together and Im excited to improve upon it for next year and for any other opportunities that come our way.
