Just thinking about @cirie_fields power of manifestation and how I am manifesting someday I do get to cast her in something. Watching Cirie own Survivor 50 is one of the things I get to do because I survived and maybe producing something with her will be another one of those things too. 🥹🥰🔥🪩😍

2016: 1. I think about this guy a lot. He was an unhoused neighbor of mine I was helping register to vote. He asked me how I felt about Trump and I told him I don’t think anything good could come from a Trump presidency - especially for people like myself. He told me he was scared of what someone like Trump might do be he’s also military and feels it is his duty to assimilate to leader of the free world. I think of him so often because I wonder if the idea that we all must assimilate is a part of what got us to where we are now ten years ago. 2. I think this was the day after the election? Maybe it was the day of inauguration. Either way, it was the first time I was tear gassed. I remember knowing then we had to keep protesting and making it difficult for fascist to become the center of our communities. I was terrified of an America that looks like what America looks like today. 3. This was the day Tr*mp “won” the first election. I knew it was coming. Being plugged into the Midwest I could read the writing on the walls. But I had to work. I had to serve people drinks and put on a smile. So I wore what I wanted. And then after my shift I went to Abby and held my friends (who I am still close with to this day) as we all cried. Ten years of Trump. We have been on this path. We have been on our way to hear the whole time. Since the beginning of the United States we have been on a journey to where we are. I really hope we start listening to our Black and brown leaders who have been holding us down and are truly the only reason we are not experiencing more fascism. I really hope y’all are ready for discomfort and change.
