This page used to be B3 Balm 💫.
For years you saw the products — but not much of the person behind them.
I’m Julia Dalton-Brush.
I’ve spent almost two decades working in the beauty industry, and while building B3, testing formulas, and working on thousands of faces, I realized something:
Good skin isn’t created by one product.
It comes from understanding what your skin actually needs.
I went back to school, became a licensed esthetician, and I’m now building a treatment-focused skin studio and education space.
This account is no longer just a brand page.
It’s a skin education page.
I’ll be teaching how skin functions, how to prep it, how to calm it, how to age well, and how to choose products that actually make sense for your skin — not just what’s trending.
I’ll also be taking a limited number of private and virtual clients while I build my new space.
(And yes… I still love making products. But they work best when you understand why you’re using them.)
If you want trends and miracle claims, this probably isn’t your place.
If you want real understanding and real results — you’re in the right place.
I’m really glad you’re here.

If your skin suddenly became sensitive, it usually didn’t happen randomly.
Most of the time what I see is a skin barrier that has slowly become compromised over time.
Too many active ingredients.
Too much exfoliation.
Too much stimulation.
Not enough support.
When the barrier becomes weakened, the skin starts reacting to things it used to tolerate. Products sting, redness increases, and the skin starts feeling unpredictable.
Most people try to correct this by doing more.
Usually the skin actually needs the opposite:
calm, hydration, barrier support, and consistency.
A lot of what I focus on in treatments is helping the skin function well again — because healthy skin is usually calm skin.

A lot of skin frustration comes from following advice that sounds logical but isn’t actually true for skin physiology.
When you understand how skin functions, routines become simpler — and results become more consistent.
I’ll keep breaking down the confusing parts so you can make better decisions for your own skin.

I can usually see dehydration before anything else.
It shows up as dullness, makeup not sitting well, oiliness, sensitivity, or random breakouts.
A lot of skincare routines focus on treating problems instead of supporting the skin first.
When hydration improves, skin behaves differently.

Most skin problems I see aren’t from doing nothing.
They’re from doing small things every day that slowly stress the skin.
Morning routines don’t need to be complicated — they need to support the skin barrier and protect it for the day ahead.
I’ll keep breaking these down so you know what actually matters and what doesn’t.

I see this constantly.
People think a product “failed” them — but usually their skin just changed.
Skin shifts with stress, hormones, seasons, and barrier health. When that happens, routines need to adjust too.
Adding stronger products isn’t always the answer.
Understanding what your skin needs right now is.
I’ll be breaking down how to read your skin in upcoming posts.

I see this every single week.
People think they have acne, rosacea, or suddenly “aging skin” — but very often the skin is just stressed.
When the barrier is impaired, the skin becomes reactive and nothing seems to work.
Before adding more treatments, the first step is usually calming the skin down.
I’ll start explaining how to repair the barrier in upcoming posts.

I see this constantly.
People change foundations over and over trying to fix what is actually a skin prep issue.
Makeup doesn’t create texture — it reveals it.
Most of the time the skin just needs hydration and barrier support, not a new product.
I’ll start breaking down how to prep skin properly this week.
