Turkey season 2026 was one for the books! Finn accompanied us on every single hunt, from running and gunning, to sitting against a tree... this little dude made the season. On to deer season prep...

This turkey season, we made it our mission to make sure Finn got to experience every hunt with us. And the best part... he WANTED to come! That's been the goal of our parenting... to show him how much fun there is to be had in the outdoors. That being outside beats being on any electronic device.
So blessed to go 4 for 4 on turkey hunts this season all with my crew.

We've never been interested in stretching the distance. The closer it gets, the better it is - plain and simple. The setup, the call, the way a bird commits and comes looking . . . that's the whole point. Boss Tom isn't built for lobbing one at some wild number. It's built to end it clean when everything comes together. And if one hangs up farther than you'd like, it'll still get handled.
Built on hard work, innovation and a refusal to follow the status quo, Boss Shotshells was built on a simple belief; waterfowl hunters deserve better.
When we launched in 2018, non-toxic was already the rule. We set out to do it better. We built our foundation on bismuth and pushed its performance as far as it could go. Then the supply dried up. Costs spiked. And the path forward changed. So we changed with it.
What started as a constraint led us to CuProX - and performance that went beyond what we had before. Not by accident, but by putting in the work until it proved itself. Every shell carries that forward - earned, tested and made to be the best performing shell in the waterfowl industry.
That's how this gets carried forward. Not by standing still, but by doing work, adapting when it's required and holding the line on what matters. Because in the end, this isn't just about what we make - its about the standard we choose to uphold and the responsibility to leave it better than we found it.
Spring isn't soft. It's cold fingers, birds that hang up and make you earn every inch. And the one finally steps into range....you don't get a redo.
That's where it ends.
Boss Tom is built to finish it - 18g/cc tungsten, heavy payloads, 12,20,28 and .410.
Patterns that hold. Hits that don't ask twice.
Tag out. Or keep talking about the one that got away.
This whole thing started as a supply crisis. It ended with us fundamentally changing how we approach mid-density non-toxic performance. Copper gave bismuth performance. CuProX with TurbuFlow surface gave us measurable gains. Warchief and Legacy are more capable than they have ever been. And we’re not done.
If you missed the email with the full State of Boss you can catch up and read it online. It’s the honest version — the chaos, the testing, the physics, and where we’re headed for 2026–27.

So a few of the Bossmen were heading out of the shop the other day, spending the last few minutes of the day the only way we know how-arguing about which 80’s hair band actually mattered. Not who sold the most records, but who you’d still defend after a couple beers. Things got heated. Words were exchanged. Somebody said Poison. Somebody else almost got fired.
Somewhere between Motley Crüe, whether Skid Row counts as “real,” and a very brief but aggressive defense of Whitesnake, the conversation drifted the way it always does-back to shells, hunting season, and why some things stick while others flame out. That’s when TSS came up.
Boss TOM has been around long enough now that it doesn’t need explaining. It’s tungsten, and nobody loads tungsten by accident. You load it because you want certainty. Because you trust it. Because when that bird finally steps into range after three hours of sub-par calling and worse patience, you don’t feel like learning any new lessons.
For us, anything worth doing is worth doing the right way, refining what already works, and letting the performance speak for itself. Tight patterns. No surprises.
Turns out when something works, time doesn't argue.
Boss Tom is back in stock! Same shell. Same standard. When costs rise, most brands adjust behind the scenes - softer blends, lighter payloads, “new” versions that feel different in the field. Then they call it progress.
That’s not how we operate.
Consistency means:
• Unchanged pellet density
• Reliable patterns
• Ethical, effective range
• Materials chosen for performance
• Tight QC, always
We’d rather pull Boss Tom entirely than down-spec tungsten, blend lower-density shot, or quietly shrink payloads.
Same performance. Same expectations. No compromises.

Around here, if it doesn't pull its weight, it doesn’t make the cut. Everything we make is purpose-built. Steel Reserve was designed for close-range waterfowling, where discipline and shot selection matter more than raw distance. Built with 1 1/8 oz. of ground-smooth, copper-plated steel and a modified Warchief wad, it produces dense, consistent patterns at a proven 1500 FPS.
That performance makes Steel Reserve a natural fit for snow goose hunting over decoys, where birds finish hard and shots stay inside 30 yards. Load it with #1s, let the snows commit, and Steel Reserve delivers fast, lethal results-doing exactly the job it was built for.
That gun’s been through more seasons than most of us have had birthdays. Frozen sloughs, leaky waders and a lifetime of mornings that started early - and they’re both still ticking.
Old guns don’t quit. Neither do the men who learned on them.
That’s why we continued the Boss legacy with Copper. Safe for old barrels, easy on vintage steel and tough enough for real hunts without the drama or the wear and tear.
Old guns don’t quit and we're not giving either of 'em a reason to.
Nobody crawls out of bed on January first suddenly shooting better than they did in December. The coffee still tastes the same, the dog still wants out too early and whatever you were working on last year is still waiting on you.
We’re not into clean slates or big declarations. Never have been. What we believe in is holding the line - building shells that don’t chase trends, they set expectations.
This season, Boss Copper has been doing exactly that. We’re seeing it in the fields, on the pattern boards and in the messages coming back from folks who’ve put it to work all season. Clean kills. Consistent results.
That doesn’t mean we’re done. It means we press forward.
Same standards. Same straight talk. No shortcuts. When materials change, we adapt. When performance can be improved, we improve it. We’re grateful for the people who’ve trusted us so far, and we’re clear-eyed about the work ahead of us in 2026.
