ON DUTY FOR ATLĆTICO de MADRID
Last Sunday I went to sleep happy like a kid who had just spent an afternoon playing games with friends.
āI donāt know what just happened, but it was so much funā is more or less what I thought.
Football has always been my passion. Played it for over 20 years, with friends and in teams, on concrete or grass. Thereās no sport that gives me the same emotions.
Photography on the other hand (mostly analog in my case) is something I developed only in the recent years. I remember picking up my dadās old camera not even knowing where to start, and watching YouTube tutorials on how to load film rolls.
Initially I wasnāt even thinking of shooting football, I just liked how the photos turned out. But when I took my camera to the first game (Berlin derby), oh if I had fun that afternoon.
Capturing the emotions that fly around before, during and after the 90 minutes, on the pitch but especially on the stands, and impress them on a film paper.
I loved that.
And I loved the fact that it led me to going to more games, exploring different cities and clubs, and portraying the culture and emotions of the fans.
But from this simple hobby to having a professional club trusting me with capturing those emotions for them.
That is something I would have considered difficult. Not impossible, but difficult. A dream.
And somehow last Sunday that dream came true.
Iām probably the person who checked @atleticodemadrid ās IG the most in these past few days.
And yet it feels unreal to see my photos there. I canāt explain it, and I canāt believe it.
But it was so much fun.

Many climbs, a dirty lens, loads of food and wonderful places šļø
I long wanted to do a trail race, attracted by the fact that thereās no time pressure and you see amazing places (instead of buildings and concrete).
And indeed it was a blast š„
In around 7 hours of race and 2700m of elevation, we ran through villages, olive trees fields and woods. We saw streams, snow and even a group of ibexes š¦
Could have we chosen something lighter as the first one? Probably, but Ben and I are naively crazy.

Unposted 2025 on analog
A year of change, a year where I struggled, a year that I initially thought was going to be the one.
I thought I was going to do more photography work, that I was going to create more content that I like, that I was going to do that thing.
Instead I went to fewer games, I took less photos, and I hardly did that thing.
Should I be sad, angry with myself, disappointed?
Maybe.
Maybe because this year I also nurtured my friendships, I proposed to the love of my life, I recovered from injuries, I improved my Spanish, I changed job, I developed ideas and took the courage to do them.
So, is this such a bad year after all?
Probably not.
May I have more courage in 2026 to do the things I like, to understand myself better, to speak about my emotions, and to not be afraid.
And even if I wonāt, Iām sure it wonāt be a bad year after all.

I might sound like a broken record and I know it, but every time something like this happens, it feels surreal.
It feels like āMe? Seriously? Youāre jokingā.
And maybe thatās the secret.
Thatās why I enjoy it so much.
Thatās why it makes me the happiest kid in the world.
Even if I donāt believe it could happen.
Even if I believe it could only happen in my dreams.
Because, maybe, I only need to dream big.
