It was such a joy to return to Edinburgh after a long break - and to do so at the iconic Cameo Cinema, a place whose architecture and atmosphere never stop enchanting us.
We were also honoured to present, in collaboration with the 24th edition of the Polish Film Festival Kinoteka, the Scottish premiere of Brother, dir. M. SobieszczaĆski - arriving to us almost directly from its London screening.
Thanks to the support of the Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in Edinburgh, we were able to share the recorded Q&A from Kinotekaâs closing gala, featuring director Maciej SobieszczaĆski, actress Agnieszka Grochowska, and young debuting actor (and judoka!) Tytus Szymczuk, run by Maggi Hurt.
Both the screening and the Q&A were met with warm applause, and we received an overwhelming amount of positive feedback about the film and the event.
A huge thank you to Cameo, Kinoteka, and the Polish Consulate for this wonderful collaboration.
Before we head into our summer break â during which weâll be working on the autumnâwinter programme for you â weâll be back in Edinburgh for one more screening.
Details coming very soon. Stay tuned.

Thereâs something very grounded about BROTHER. It carries a visual sensibility that feels close to the tradition of Polish cinema.
The screenplay received the Krzysztof KieĆlowski ScripTeast Award.
The filmâs visual tone comes from Jolanta Dylewska, whose cinematography has shaped many significant Polish films. She is best known for her work on Spoor (Pokot), In Darkness (W ciemnoĆci), Tulpan, PoâLin. Scraps of Memory (PoâLin. Okruchy pamiÄci), Ayka and Eagle. Last Patrol (OrzeĆ. Ostatni patrol).
The composer of the score, Antoni KomasâĆazarkiewicz is known for his music for In Darkness (W ciemnoĆci), Spoor (Pokot), Burning Bush (GorejÄ cy krzew), Mr Jones, Quo Vadis, Aida? and Miasto 44.
At the centre is a story about a family trying to stay afloat.
Borscht Film club is bringing BROTHER to Scotland for two screenings only.
